Depends on the girl I think...my best friend hates going to the movies because you can't talk to the person you're with, which I completely understand. It's probably not a good idea for a first date because you probably will want to get to know the person. In my opinion I don't mind going to the movies so much, I like it a lot. Renting a movie might be a better idea since it's in the privacy of your own home and you can talk whenever you want.

i think that they are cool to go to but shouldn't be the main part of the date. like include a movie along with dinner and just hangin out. the dates where we just sit there and talk are some of my favorite:D

In my opinion the movies are fine...But don't make that like the only thing, go eat afterwards...but don't like sit there in silence..try to talk to her, most likely the movie you just saw will give you something to start with if you're at a loss for words...

Pretty much what everyone else said..it sucks if you can't talk to the person, cause if you're both just sitting there watching a movie the whole time and not talking at all then it's somewhat pointless.

don't go to the theatre for a first date.. just hang out at the mall or eat out or whatever then if you're still into it rent a movie and chill.. by then you've probably already gotten to talk and to know eachother more so talking some more through the movie wont be a problem.. but if youre not diggin it talking doesnt have to happen.

i'd rather rent a movie than go to a theater for a date. then if you start talking or ahem whatever it is you do during a movie, you're not worried about bothering other people. and you can put your feet wherever you want.
