That's sort of the point, that they are a secret society that can do the IMPOSSIBLE.

I think it would make more sense if you have read the graphic novel, then you would get the plot a bit more. Teh trailers don't really tell you much

I actually agree with you, I think the Super villains aspect would not translate on to film very well. I also just think that the story is better told with super villains rather than assassins. I haven't seen the film so I reserve final judgment until such time. But based on what I see from the trailer, I believe the book will give a more complete and all around better story.

Mark Millar (creater of the graphic novel) has already been approached for a sequel to Wanted. I think this is kind of depending on box office performance.

This is what he had to say about it:

Overall it was a pretty decent action movie, the action scenes were well done and pretty cool at some points, it was funny at times. There was a little "twist" that made things interesting and changed the story. But overall I just couldn't get into it that much, it was just too much like the matrix (at least up until about halfway through). Some parts of it didn't make a whole lot of sense and you get the feeling that some of the action sequences were trying too hard. Parts of it were very cliche, for example whenever a fight was going to take place there would be that cheesy metal guitar in the background. It felt that they were trying too hard to make this a badass movie.

That being said, its worth seeing, just don't expect an amazing movie. 6.5/10

Oh and you get to see Angelina Jolie's ass so that alone is worth the ticket price.

Totally agree with the Fight Club vibe of it, the first 10-15 mins of it was like the beginning of fight club, at some points it seemed like it was just flat out copying parts of fight club with all the narrating parts and the part where he tells off his boss . And since Fight Club was amazing, this didn't even come close to being as good.

I understand if this movie was following the comic book but overall it seemed like it took too much from other movies.

For a movie about a guy with the ability to go anywhere in the world at any point in time, Jumper was pretty flat. Not to mention, Hayden Christensen is an awful actor. Regardless, while I don't expect Wanted to be a groundbreaking action movie, there's no way it will be entirely forgettable.

I was a big fan of the comic, and even though this didn't follow it that well it was massively entertaining. They got the core of the story right, I thought McAvoy did a great job as Wesley, and damn, that was some seriously great violence if you ask me. I was grinning for most of this movie.

That might be one of them. But this is how I view it: Being stoned generally only makes a movie better if its a bad movie, so why not just go see a good movie and not smoke.

That might be one of them. But this is how I view it: Being stoned generally only makes a movie better if its a bad movie, so why not just go see a good movie and not smoke.

Orrr if it's a comedy, right? I wouldn't go watch a good movie stoned, but some movies (like Pineapple Express) seem like they would be much better if you were high.

Anyway, the point is, my friend went to Wanted stoned and said that it was not very good, but the fact that he was high made it better. I wanted to know whether or not this was true, because if so, I wouldn't go watch it.

This is another film that I thought looked good but might end up being a bit of a let down..from what I can tell, no one has anything especially bad to say about it so it might well be worth a watch. It may well tide me over til The Dark Knight which I have been convinced is going to be awesome pretty much purely by the hype in its thread on here.

Not by my standards. I just got back from seeing it, and I can't stop grinning. It was fucking awesome! Especially to see in theaters, but I also thought it was a genuinely good film aside from all the special effects.

Just saw this tonight... I thought it was pretty bad albeit entertaining up until the last 25 minutes or so. It completely redeemed itself for me with that. For those of you that have seen Wanted and Gone Baby Gone...

The precise moment when Cross grabs Wesley's arm to save him I thought, "Fuck me, I should've seen this coming. It's all a lie and Morgan Freeman is the bad guy again. Wtf. I'm an idiot, and I really should've seen this coming.

I didn't expect that from this movie. Thought it was going to be pretty straightforward.
