Even though this is nice to hear it's still way too early to even mean anything. The machine that is a Republican campaign hasn't really begun yet so I'm waiting till at least September before I start to trust any polling.

McCain's change of his opinion on oil drilling off Florida's coast should increase Obama's lead though so hopefully we can count on that state.

I know it's too early, but poll numbers like these make me feel good.

While we do have to fear the stunts the Republicans are going to pull, you also have to factor in Obama going out and speaking all the time in these states. People will fall in love with him, and he's sure to acquire the majority of independent voters.

It's a good start but, like stated above, Republicans are not easy to beat and Obama isn't the best politician in his party. He'll make a great president if he can win it but the Republicans aren't gonna lay back and just let him win. I'm expecting a rather entertaining November surprise.

Good point. I was going to mention the thrend that happens once Obama starts spending time in a state. The trend has been the longer he has been in a state the more his numbers go up. I'm glad to see some of this carry over from the primaries.

I have a feeling that Florida will be a McCain state.

Obama will probably win Pennsylvania, but it will be more like 1-3%

I think if he wins Penn, he'll win the election.

He has to win Pennsylvania to be competitive... but it's not going to matter because McCain simply isn't going to beat him there.

Here's a question: aside from the polling disaster that was New Hampshire, was there ever an instance of Obama losing ground in a state during the campaign? There isn't one I can recall.

Do you mean like a Hillary upset? Because I'm sure there are plenty of states where he was expected to win bigger.

I don't know about PA. After the primary it could be a little difficult for him to win. These are swing states for a reason though! I personally would rather see mickey mouse become president over mccain or obama.

There were states where it was thought he could win bigger, but I'm talking about a state where he legitimately lost ground.

He is going to win Pennsylvania. Florida won't happen, and hell Ohio might not either, but he's going to win Pennsylvania.

I just heard on the news that Obama is up about 16 points on McCain in Florida.....is it possible this state could do something right for once?
