Personally, I wouldn't take it that far by any means, but they are both pretty good... I play Illuminate regularly.

"Illuminate" is the best album i've heard in years, every song is great and the album flows. Also Leighton's voice just pierces the air so beautifully.

But there's such a difference between their first album and Illuminate, i can't get into their first one at all.

Saw them again last night and I have a few things to say a)they are a really cohesive band and even something as simply as starting the set with an acoustic guitar and then adding the instruments as the song progressed. Then ending the set by instruments leaving the song and just having the piano playing at the end, I found so cool. b) I realized Leighton is the cutest thing ever. :-d

I just saw them tonight at the University of Illinois with All The Day Holiday. Their set was a little bit short, but they sounded amazing. I don't remember the set list, but I would recommend you go no matter what songs you hear. They were pretty awesome.

I know it’s hard to get it if we aren’t playing your city ..but here’s the story behind the “Hotel Sessions.”

We had over $1200 dollars stolen from us on this tour. It’s been a struggle with trying to make gas to each show & all. We knew we had to do something to makeup for the money stolen. The only idea we had was to sell exclusive songs only available FROM US. They’re legitimately recorded in the hotels & in the van on drives. It does suck to know that the songs will probably leak, which will enable some people to get them without buying them at shows. So if you can come out and actually get them from us, that’d be amazing. There it is in a nut shell.

I don't think bands like Lydia come along all that often these days. It's like everything is the same and keeps going on that way and then BAM, a kick to the face with awesomeness when you something like them. I remember listening to them as just another unknown myspace page, it's awesome what they've really done as a band.

I think the best and worst thing about Illuminate is that it's extremely one-note. Almost every song has the exact same pattern to it and instrumentally sound very similar. But at the same time that's not necessarily a bad thing, cos if you're in that kind of mood it's a fantastic album from start to finish.

The Boston date of their farewell tour is at the Upstairs Middle East. Earlier that same day, my band is playing an afternoon show at the exact same venue. So in essence, you could say I'll be sharing a stage with Lydia. That's going to be an awesome day.

I'm still having trouble getting into Lydia, I love Mindy White's voice but I can't find a good song where it's highlighted. Her work so far in States is something I can't seem to find in Lydia. Which songs/albums should I listen to first?

I've had This is Twice Now on my iPod for a while and it's the only song that I could really get into.

Whelp, Steve just left the band.

It is from a place of deep regret and rue I write these words, awash in disbelief and distant reflection, but friends, I must announce my immediate departure from Lydia. Do not fret! Lydia is still coming to a town near you, and I am knee deep in completing my new band's debut LP. Irreconcilable differences between myself and remaining original members have resulted in thick tension at rehearsals. It was finally too small for the both of us, and someone had to go. I will miss performing these songs one more time in every city but ultimately my departure from the tour is the best for all involved, including you fans. There is not a show nor record nor demo nor chat with a fan I do not look back upon with only the fondest of memories, our fans truly are unique and I will continue to deliver the ear candy, always, forever and most importantly, VERY SOON. Until then, take care, go see Lydia, and keep your ears to the stars for signs of where I'll be next.
