Yellowcard (http://www.yellowcardrock.com)'s Ocean Avenue has now sold in excess of 300,000 copies. Their new single was one of three most-added songs last week at Top 40 radio, and the video has now been named "Buzzworthy" at MTV, MTV2, and MTV.com.
Don't forget that the band will be performing their latest single on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - tomorrow, March 3rd.

I think we're all going to get tired of the yellowcard news real fast. It's obvious they're getting really big, which means there's just going to be more and more assumed 'newsworthy' posts about them... but from the reactions I've seen to recent Yellowcard posts, it seems like average AP.net reader's interest in the band is declining. I vote for an entire section devoted to yellowcard news....
i welcome all YC news, but i am a big biased fan. recently id say that the news has been pretty justified with the lineup change.
And from all knowledge i have gathered from the YC msg boards, Pete will be playing Bass on Leno, and Alex will be touring Australia and New Zealand with YC for his last hurah. Pete really just has to remember Ocean Avenue real quick.

I would go to see them play again, the few times i have seem them were very entertaining.
To me, the new album is 90% very boring and generic.

I love this band. I'm glad that they have gotten some success, but hopefully it won't go too far. I would HATE to have to go to an arena to see them play.

So does this mean YC is changing their bassist again?
(edited) Nevermind. :)

When Pete was asked to join YELLOWCARD after the recording of Ocean Avenue, he replied, "I have to go think things over..." Well, after Pete couldn't bear the burden of being in a Capitol Records touring band, Yellowcard approached their FRIEND, Alex Lewis.
Alex Lewis picked up the precision bass, and immediately joined Yellowcard. He didn't do it in an egotistical or pretentious manner. He did it in such a way where he left it up to the fans to really accept him or not, which they did.
Now that Ryan owns a beach house in Oceanside, CA and Yellowcard enjoys maximum radio and tv play, Pete decides: Oh I want to join the band.
Instead of being men of morals and knowing what was the right thing to do, Yellowcard kicked Alex Lewis out of the band, banishing him to the streets with a sack of booze and a Fender P-Bass.
Regardless of "Pete's song writing talents (Hmmm... Cause Inspection 12 was really PHENOMINAL songwriting and everything, yeah right, wow???)", it is not morally correct to sell out a friend like that. ALEX is a human being, who just a month ago had joined a Capitol Records, Famous, WELL Paid,Talented, Worldwide Touring Band, before his 19TH BIRTHDAY!!! Now he has been shattered to nothing.
Yellowcard is a great and talented band and I love and respect their music. But I cannot respect them as individuals, as I can respect no individual who stabs their friend square in the back, jabbing the blade through their heart and out the other end.

I was just thinking almost the exact same thing.... I had much respect for them up untill now. I mean I can't say much because I have not been in their shoes, and I do not know the story behind the news that we read... but what we read...sounds pretty pathetic. Pete wanted to leave. That was his decision. Thats pretty lame to just kick alex out after all he put into the band... and if i were alex, i wouldnt be to extatic on this upcoming tour to "finish" his stint with the band.
hmmmm....buying a house...and top 40 radio play....
interesting.....very interesting..
dont hear sellout yet....im sure someone will say it
