New Moon is kind of a bore, but Eclipse is very good in my opinion.

I also have this weird feeling that it will not end the way I want it to (and many others). I'm hoping for a happy ending between Edward and Bella. If I don't get it, I'm going to be very upset.

I love it, even though its not the best writing in the world. I am excited for the movie (edward cullen is a hufflepuff, thank you very much~).

I just re-read Twilight today, haha.

It's funny because I actually pictured Edward looking a lot like Cedric (whatever his real name is) only slightly more "perfect" looking. If that makes sense.

My friend says he's a terrible fit for Edward, but even before he had the role, I also pictured Cedric as Edward. It makes me laugh that it turned out that way.

alright i'll admit it...i am so, completely gulity of fan-girling over this series! and don't get me started on the movie. i can't even begin to tell you how many interviews i've watched. robert pattinson=love.

I usually don't fan-girl over anything, but for some reason Twilight has latched in my brain. I know what you mean about the interviews. I don't know why I've watched interviews with stunt doubles, extras, and very minor characters.

I can't wait for next week when Breaking Dawn comes out. My friends want Jacob to die a horrible and unnatrual death. I, on the other hand, don't really care.

Here's a scene they showed at Comin-Con:
KuHS3ihYlCs
I think the film looks promising, but I wish they hadn't showed this 3 minute scene especially since it's the most exciting part of the movie/book.

If any girl fucking screams in my theatre though, I will punch them in the face. It is just a movie! It's girls like this that make me embarrassed to even admit to liking Twilight.

Somehow everyone finds it amazing that I picked up the first one, got halfway finished, put it down and didn't have much inclination to start up on it again.
I just don't see what all the hype is about...they're not awful but I don't really see the series standing any test of time, either.

I enjoy them. I'll put it this way:

Went to the book release, all the people there had either/or

A) Black hair, wonderfully over their eye.
B) Outrageous clothing/ Multi-colored hair
C) Looked the same

I'm thinking the books appeal to a certain part of teenagers. But I enjoy them, nothing fantastic. But I enjoy them.

All I am saying is that Meyer in no way intended a main stream male audience when she began writing these books. Its a romance story about vampires. Maybe she tried to catch guys with the introduction of lichens. If so, she failed anyway.

Twilight the movie is coming out soon. I heard they added some scenes that weren't in the book. Stephanie Meyer said she liked it. I'm really looking forward to it, but i hope they don't destroy the story. Either it can be really bad, or really awesome... I thought Breaking Dawn was a really good conclusion to the Twilight series. Definitely my favorite book...

The manuscript for first twelve chapters of Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's POV) got leaked so Stephenie put the book on hold indefinitely. She also put the manuscript on her page after the leak, so the fans could read them without feeling guilty.

I read like 7 chapters of Breaking Dawn and gave up. but from what I know is that Bella gets knocked up, and Edward bites her stomach to let the baby out cause it would have killed her or some crazy shit like that...and as a result Bella turns into a vampire but doesn't get all "new born" crazy.

thats pretty much where i read up to. i skipped alot of the boring shit about Jacob and Leah because Jacob pisses me off. so does anything interesting happen after Bellas amazingly stupid named daughter Renesmee is born? oh yeah and Jacob decides he wants to fuck her or something.

I really liked the first three books; even though I sometimes have trouble continuing to love stuff through all the hype, you know? The over zealous fans really ruin it. So did Breaking Dawn. That was a terrible, terrible book. It completely ruined the entire series for me. D: I love Jacob, especially in Eclipse.

I am kind of excited for the movie though; I'll be going pretty early with some friends on opening day.

But if you were being serious about it being interesting, they didn't say anything about the other books that we have to read. Basically it sounds like we'll go thru lots of stodgy poetry and old british literature. What can I do about it though, that's what happens when you're an English major. When I actually do have to read Twilight in a few years, I'll probably see it as a nice respite and appreciate that I'll be able to understand it w/o having to read it 5 times to grasp the idea.

By the way, I'm on book 3 right now. Will definitely be done with the series by the time the movies comes out.

I agree with you on both counts. If you haven't read these books (not hating on the Twilighters here) but Twilight is definitely the best book of the series. I'd say up until Eclipse I was still engaged but sometimes I wish I'd left it at Twilight. But hopefully the movie will be good; teasers look like there will be some pretty good action in the movie. Not pretending to be an expert so anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but the original manuscript (which everyone is reading for free) was originally leaked onto the internet unedited and not proof read, so she decided to release it legally for free so all the fans would be able to read it, not only the ones who got it through illegal distribution. This will be a very short summary. Bella has the baby, but she loses so much blood that she'll possible die, so Edward bites her. Jacob imprints on the baby. Bella gets turned into a vampire. Volturi hear about the half human baby and think it could kill everyone, so they come down to Forks to kick some Cullen ass. They are about to have some massive battle, where vampires and werewolves team up, then Alice shows the volturi an immortal half-human vampire that's safe, so the Volturi go home and everyone's happy. Massive anti-climax. You're better off not reading it.

TECHNICALLY, Edward didn't bite her, he licked her wounds & his venom got into her bloodstream. That whole labor scene was a difficult to understand for me.
The book revolved around whether or not Edward would actually "bite her" & I like how he actually didn't, it was a last resort.

I've only started reading Twilight this Friday, and I'm practically finished with the book. Yeah...I know I'm kind of late haha. Robert Pattinson is coming to my local mall tomorrow to do a signing and a Q&A. I'm still deciding whether it's worth it, with all those people there and having to tolerate all those rabid teeney fangirls. I'll probably end up checking out the Q&A, at least.

Hahaha. I just talked to my friend on the phone and she said she's going to the mall to meet the actor who plays Edward tomorrow. She said she was worried because the other day at his San Fransisco meet and greet thing 3,000 people showed up and a girl got trampled and her nose was broken. Another girl passed out because of the amount of people and she couldn't breathe. When she told me this, I laughed.

Yeah, that actually happened today. I was thinking of going to that event because the mall is right next to my campus. Good thing I didn't go through with it though, since it was a like mob scene. The mall totally wasn't ready for the amount of people that showed up. The mall was only anticipating 200-500 people, but then 3,000 showed up. They only had like one security guard with a megaphone controlling the situation. Eventually, the SF police had to step in since things got all crazy and girls were getting trampled. I mean c'mon.... what did they think....it's Robert frickin' Pattinson. It sucks for the people who traveled far from their homes to go to the signing, like I heard some people came all the way from Hawaii and Arizona.

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed it ended up getting cancelled...but I'm sure glad I wasn't there.

Update**: Actually, Robert Pattinson is still going to do the Q&A. I'm leaving the house as I type.

I just got back.

Yeah, at first they cancelled the event, after the whole mob scene. Later, though, my friend who works at the mall informed me that they were going to go through with the Q&A. I guess they only said they "cancelled," hoping that would subside the crowd.

So I went there around 6ish, and he did end up doing the signing at hot topic. There wasn't as much people, but there still was a significant amount there. Only the people who got wristbands earlier could go to the signing, though. I got a good glimpse of the back of Robert's head as he entered Hot Topic. Girls got all into screaming frenzy! I left early around 7ish. I don't know if he did end up doing the Q&A. I just couldn't stand it anymore, and I didn't want to stick around and wait for all those 500 people to get their autographs just to get a slightly better glimpse of him.

I went last night in Dallas. I'm never doing anything like that again. I guess I just tagged along for the sake of going. Anyways, my friends had wristbands and I didn't so I was like "Oh, I'll just save us spots for the Q&A while you're meeting him." Thinking it would be like a nice area with seats and stuff. But no, it was a long ass line. I waited for a good 3 hours (I made new friends who let me cut toward the front. lol) Then he comes out for the Q&A and everyone was screaming and they had a faulty microphone. So, we couldn't hear a thing. He was getting frustrated and after 15 minutes he gave up and left the stage. hahaha.

Totally agree. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you hate Breaking Dawn? (1 being you actually liked it, 10 you wanted to burn out your eyes and get your memory wiped so you could pretend you've never read it)

Okay, i will admit....I've never read ANY of the books, Im not very familiar with the author, the story, or anything of the sort.... in fact I didnt even know the book existed until I heard about the movie coming out.

But I dont understand?

Ive seen trailer after trailer, commerical after commercial....and this movie just does not look very appealing. Isnt it just another vampire movie, but with teenagers. I feel like a B- Movie with this same basic plot came out about 2 years ago, although I forget what it's called.

Anyways...

is there something I dont know about this series that might spark my interest more? Other than the main character is really hot?

The vampire saves the girl's life and they fall in love (I think. Gotta love trailers...)

Though I don't really understand why he doesn't just bite her, drink her blood and let her die. Just get it over and done with .

No, he can't bite her, they have to wait and see if they're ready to bite, then wait some more til they're married, then after all that waiting on the wedding night he can finally, eh, sink his 'teeth' into her.

I think they're might be a metaphor in there somewhere
