Thanks MTV. :mad:Wow, I don't Yellowcard, and even I know that you're being a fucking selfish idiot.

So just because you don't like somebody, that means that a band who has worked their ass off to do what they desire more than anything shouldn't get one more fan? Quit being an ass.

nah i understand though.

There's lots of bands that it was really cool to have as my own little special band that I really loved that no one else was really into. I mean I still like them now and am happy for their success, but it's still kinda a bummer.

So I get it. no worries.

However, lets end this convo now since it's been gone over about 2902342343463 times. lol.

Nah, it's cool with their success and all, but having an obnoxious whore singing to Ocean Avenue and talk about how Ryan is so hot can be bothersome, and we all know that.

As long as Yellowcard makes good music, I am with them.

I used to like Yellowcard but I saw them on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and that was probably the worst I have ever seen a song played live. both singers sucked the violinist couldn't even remember what he was doing and the new bassist didn't have a clue. I have seen them live several times but I think that all this hype they are getting is lowering the quality of their music.

Umm...the bassist isn't new. He was their first bassist, and wrote almost all of the music on Ocean Avenue.

I think I'd be a bit flustered too though if I was on a nationally broadcast performance. LOL.

But that was sort of a weak performance for them. I felt bad.

just to clear things up...Pete IS NOT the original bassist for yellowcard. Pete came into the picture after Warren left.

How come there can't be a single post mentioning Yellowcard w/out someone mentioning the bassist change and then an arguement following. GET THE FUCK OVER IT. If you like the band hopefully you like them for their music and as long as their msuic stays the same who cares if the old bassist came back.

Pete was the main bassist and the one most knew. I don't like him...I want Alex back.

Who cares if they are on MTV? Sure, I don't like MTV...but what does it matter? It's just elitist assholes that care. In a sense, I understand people who claim to love the band, yet don't know anything about them besides that MTV played them at number one two weeks ago annoys me as well.

What happens when a band becomes popular is, the masses become quick to digest and shit them out. One minute, they absolutely love what they're hearing -- it's new, it's catchy, blah, blah, blah -- the next, they're saying, "That song is old!" or, "You're listening to... Yellowcard? What, did you just find out about them or something? They're so early 2004 to me." Nothing makes an ass out of u and me worse than when a TRL screamer accuses you of being a newbie to music they no longer enjoy that YOU were enjoying 3+ years before they first saw the video for "Way Away" in the side panel of the credits for The OC.

See, when a band gets popular, songs that once chronicled Jason Tate's life in a poignant way suddenly become disposable background music to the rest of the world. It's not the band's fault, nor is it the listeners' fault. It's the Shit Machine's fault. Hypothetically, Yellowcard could make a brilliant album in the future -- violin-punk's answer to "OK Computer," if you will, or "Dark Side of the Moon" -- and the Shit Machine would NOT fail to make the world fucking sick and numb to it.

At which point, said popular band becomes unpopular again. The true fans will remain, but the rest of the world will look at you and your band and say, "We chewed up, digested, and shit out everything we needed to know about your lousy, OLD band. While you're sitting there remembering how it was to be 18 without a father, we're rocking out to the neo-rap metal sounds of Hailie Jade Mathers, Pop Princess." Such is the way of the Shit Machine. In its eternal quest for "the new thing," it's quick to make old news out of awesome bands, thus stripping them of the dignity they truly deserve.

AND THIS IS WHY WE BITCH.

If I'm gonna 'love with my heart' then Yellowcard really sucks.....but that's just my opinion. Another 4 year of W and I might not be able to express it. At least Yellowcard doesn't sing about Jesus...I'll give them that.
