Local Long Island, NY Recommendations

Here are a two bands from the local (dying) Long Island scene that I think are pretty awesome. Then again, what do I know?

Arrogant Sons of Bitches (http://asobrock.com/) (PV (http://www.purevolume.com/thearrogantsonsofbitches))- Although I definately don't like ska, this band is damn amazing. They just finished a tour with Streetlight Manifesto. www.punknews.org called them "one of the best live bands you can see." They're on kill.normal records.

The Buddy System (http://www.buddysystemrock.com/) (PV (http://www.purevolume.com/thebuddysystem/)) - Amazing band from Suffolk County that rock out very locally, but are going on their first US tour soon. They're great guys and greater musicians and in my humble opinion need to get the recognition they deserve. As yet unsigned.

Also you should (if you don't) listen to A Love for Enemies.

Like I said, my opinion is bad, because I'm not a big local scene freak. There's plenty I didn't name. Milwaukee Skyrocket for instance. And Bayside I think is LI. But I just had something to say about those two.

I know some guys from Long Island who have a band and they're pretty tight but mostly just play at clubs and stuff, I know they're at the Downtown in Farmingdale a lot..they're called slow car boost. Their website is www.slowcarboost.com (http://www.slowcarboost.com)

nah not bad i love asob and would love to post al my favorite long island bands on here bu there are so dman many i wouldn't no where to start


ps-bayside is from all over new york mostly queens. they call just LI home. :)

My friend was one of the co founders of this label and they ahve some really good bands on them such as All Grown up. Also check out LuxCouragious which used to be on that label as well.


and if ANY one has heard of the short lived but extremely kick ass band Shattered Dreams, I give you a thumbs up, It's sad to see them go, but if any of the members got started again look out

check out Lux Courageous... they are great guys (im friends with them) and pretty talented...they are from melville/huntington area

yeah... they are in the process of being signed...theyll be announcing all that stuff in the next week or so.

haha, glad to see you like them... they a really area a great band and im not just saying that because they are friends of mine.
