Well I think alternative is a mix of genres , mainly rock .. And I think it's indefinable , it's something different that cannot have an exactly definition .. That's why it is alternative ..

Hahaha that is what i was going to say but in a nicer way. I think Alternative is watered down pop-influenced rock.
