There is an interesting article on Johnny Ramone in the Washington Times which you can read right here (http://washingtontimes.com/entertainment/20040311-085521-1823r.htm).

I bet Tate is pissed that an article was posted that rips on liberals. It's nice to finally see articles posted that contain another viewpoint besides Tate's.

it is kinda weird how it is "interesting" that he isn't liberal. i thought part of punk was not having to be the same or conforming. yet johnny ramone has a conservative viewpoint and he is considered "interesting". michael moore can suck a nut too.

Hey thanks for posting my news, its nice to see you guys showing another side of punk. The fact of the matter is, it is okay to be conservative and a punk. In fact the punk rock revolution started as a rebeliion to hippies and a utopian view of social issues. The funny thing is today I can't tell the difference between hippies and punks. To be conservative is to want limited government control which is really what the punk movement is all about in a way.

"Punks should either be conservative or have no politics at all."

I think since Moore is against capitalism that he should give the millions of dollars he made in a capitalist society away to charities.

I thought punk rock was about anarchy or causing chaos within the system. Maybe even the DIY method to life but
go to both sites and come up with your own conclusion

Did you know Joey Ramone, the vocalist, was an outspoken liberal, and his and Johnny's differing view points were a factor in the band's tensions and disagreements?

that was pretty interesting to know. I don't consider myself conservative or liberal. I agree with both sides on different issues. But i am sick of all the bands and media ripping on Bush. Its getting very old. Its just nice to see sombody sticking up for the president.

I think it's cool he is an outspoken conservative in the punk/"liberal" world. I never believed punk and liberal go together, more like punk goes with fighting what is wrong in the world.
