I performed a search for a thread on this seminal punk band and nothing came up. This forum, hell this entire site needs more Television and less shitty pop rock bands. Marquee Moon is an absolute masterpiece.
Marquee Moon is amazing. One of my favorite older records. Too bad nothing else they put out came close.

Adventure, for what its worth is a really solid album. Its just unfortunate that it had to follow up such an amazing album. It just can't compare
One negative thing that I can say about Marquee Moon and Television in general is that their vocals are really annoying. They get a pass because their music is about the guitars, not the vocals.

Awesome band. It took me a while to realize just how great they were.

Never really bothered with this band. I should listen to some of their stuff just so I can have more background on punk in general.

Marquee Moon is essential punk listening material.

not that they are comparable at all, but everyone blows loads about how important the shitty sex pistols were. honestly, Television should be the band people look for. Its a lot more challenging of a listen, but so much more rewarding. there is so much more to this band than simply just punk. genius.

I love Television, and Verlaine's vocals. Anyone listened to his solo stuff? I liked the album he released a few years ago, but that's all I've heard.

His first two solo outings (self-titled and Dreamtime) are actually quite good.

These cold wild seas have left us turning
But I sleep light on these shores tonight
I live light on these shores
Bumpity bump.
Marquee Moon is one of the best abums ever, have been consistently listening to it every day for the last three months, same with Adventure although I don't give it as many spins.
Verlaines early solo stuff is so good as well

Marquee Moon is an excellent album. Though I do really enjoy Adenture, an underrated album IMO

Andrea definitley does not like Taylor Swift. It keeps me up nights. Crying....teardrops on my guitar.

Which one? The one about a boy she "loved" who cheated on her but she's better than that?

I know these guys get compared to Television a lot - http://themiddleeight.bandcamp.com/album/its-on-tonight-single. I just listened to this single; not quite as punky, and a bit darker, but still a valid comparison I think.
