If Showtime would give the show an hour each week, it would be amazing. As it stands, the radio show is the second best on NPR (RadioLab has head and shoulders beat it out). Both shows are on my weekly podcast list.
Case and point about Showtime giving TAL an hour each week: The last show (John Smith) was absolutely brilliant and non of the previous shows have come near it.

What is it about? We have the first season at Borders for quite cheap. I'll pick it up if it sounds interesting.

Just thought that this deserved a bump. Such a great podcast. The recent one about break-ups hit home for me.

My dentist recommended this to me awhile back actually.
I love This American Life. Great stories although since I can't download anymore to my iTunes I have to just listen to the show on it's actual website.

Each episode is about a different topic (prom, summer camp, etc.), and it's just a bunch of human interest stories related to each theme. There's tons of variety, and they manage to make even boring topics interesting. You can stream a lot of the radio shows from their official website, so check one out to see if you'll like it.

Got into this just last fall and am totally addicted. I have every radio episode and am in the process of listening to all the ones I've missed thus far. I feel like such a nerd being that I spend several hours each week listening to it haha. The TV show is awesome too but def. Radio Version>TV Version.
By the way, is anyone going to see This American Life Live! (http://www.thislife.org/About_TALLive.aspx) on April 23rd? I realllllly wanna go see it in but I doubt any of my friends wanna go with me haha.

I just got back from seeing this. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was really great. Our theater was about 2/3rds full, apparently others were sold out. Along with 5 great acts of TAL goodness, they showed clips from the John Smith episode of the tv show, and a few scenes from Dr. Horrible, both of which were pretty cool to see on the big screen. They're having encore showings on May 7th, I believe, and the 90 minute show will be edited down to a 60 minute episode sometime in the next few weeks. Ira Glass might be my favorite person ever.

Went last year. Are tickets still about $30.00? It was fun, but not worth the price of admission. Now, if I could see this or RadioLab live I would be stoked.

Tickets were only 20, which admitedly is still a bit much, but perhaps the encore screening in May will be less expensive?

Recently purchased this shirt. Makes a brother proud to support something he loves so.
I've really been urging to download every episode and burn them to individual cds.
It'll be so worth the bragging rights to say I have every single show, even if I'm the only one of my friends who cares.
