so to sum it up I've had my gauges (size 00) for about 4 years and I feel like I've grown out of that stage in my life, but I love them. It's summer and I kind of want to take them out now and let them heal up all summer. Some are telling me too go for it, some are telling me no, keep them in. Any commentary on girls with plugs or just gauges in general? Take them out or keep them in?

Considering your lobes are at 00 they may not completely close up to a "normal" size. I had my lobes at a 0 for less than a year when I started playing lacrosse for my high school. I figured I would just take the plugs out and let my ears be since I was constantly removing the jewelry every game. So I left my plugs out pretty much the whole season.. Which was maybe 3 months. Not too long, but at the end of the season my ears didn't "shrink" past a 2 gauge.. Made me happy though 'cause it was easier to put them back in.

Why don't you want plugs anymore? I think that stretched lobes can still look presentable with the right jewelry, if that's your concern. Just a matter of opinion I guess.

Everything is a trend, mods included. Most of the decisions are made without having to think about it for long because mods like piercings aren't permanent for the most part. I don't see any meaning behind stretched ear lobes or of the such. Although I hope you continue to stick with your opinion down the road.
