I've been watching 7th Heaven a lot on TV lately, reruns and such, because there's been absolutely nothing else on during the day between my classes and all I have to say is how can such a religious family be so incredibly fucked up? And how many times can one family say "I'm sorry" to each other?

Lots of religious families are fucked up. In my personal experience (I live in a religious town and had religious friends, and I graduated with a bunch of home schoolers, most of whom are religious), they're so busy trying to be perfect that they screw up. They look perfect on the outside, yet they often keep horrible secrets on the inside.

Families that repeatedly say "I'm Sorry": The Brady Bunch, The Cleavers, the family from "Father Knows Best", mine, etc.....

Ya, but what I'm talking about is the fact that it's so overexaggerated. It seems that they've encountered every problem with the world in some way or another, yea I know it's a TV show, but come on....

Yeah, I know. They live in a small town, don't they? How many problems, besides teen pregnancy and pagans, do they really face every day? This show is worse than Full House....
.... The best thing I've ever seen involving 7th Heaven is when Mad TV made fun of it a few years ago. Damn, that was funny.

Today was an episode about one of the kids and his friend who's sister was in a gang...but she definately white and was dressing like a latino thug. She ended up trying to get out and got beat up...I don't know, that show is ridiculous...sorry if this thread is dumb, I was just bored and it was on my mind. :)
