I had a thought.
What if a presidential candidate, regardless of party, WASN'T a tool? Interesting idea, eh?
It doesn't matter if you are voting for Kerry or Bush... You have to admit, they are both complete puppets. Everything they say is fed to them through a little bug in their ear. And the people feeding them are a crack team of partisan-controlled political science majors. It's like we're not even electing a person, we're electing a team of guys who tell him what to think and how to say it, even. Personally, I'm going to vote for Bush, but I still realize he's an idiot. He's just the lesser of two evils.
I propose that someone who is a REAL PERSON runs for president... I mean someone with actual opinions, someone who isn't crooked and isn't backed by a hundred billionaires who make their choices for them. Someone who is articulate and informed not because of a wire in their ear, but because THEY'RE ACTUALLY INTELLIGENT! Someone who makes a decision not based on what their party will think, but what is best for the majority of the nation? I mean, that's why we elect a "president" and not a "party" in the first place, isn't it? I'm supposed to be electing a candidate, not one of two parties!
I would vote for this person!
It's kind of sad that the United States is considered a democracy but we're living in a two-party system. What's worse is that I can't see a way out of this. Right now, in America, if you vote for a third-party, you are considered to be wasting your vote. Things should not be this way!
I don't know. I know that I just pointed out the problems and didn't really present any solutions, but this has just been on my mind.
End rant here.
