Comes out August 1st. I'm actually pretty excited about this, I really enjoyed the first two. I just hope they don't ruin this one.

I have to be honest and admit I never saw the others (I did, however, see The Scorpion King because I was at one time obsessed with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), but this looks god-awful.
since when was their orientals like jet li involved during the Egyptian mummy period?
i took about 5 art history classes at Penn State and never once learned about squinty interference in the Egyptian art/history culture...

By the way, Mike, "oriental" is an offensive term these days, unless referring to products from that part of the world.
who cares? It's a movie.....
I care, it's like if they inaccurately somehow used The Joker wrong in the new Batman movie,
your stupid ass wouldn't say, "who cares it was just a movie" you would throw a fit like the fanboy you are. Which is okay to do.
I like the Mummy franchise a little bit, I am really into Egyptian Art History, and that was a possible career major for me until I passed on it, which as I am getting older, I might want to pursue again, so these films kind of have some cool things about them in that aspect even though 95 percent of it is not true, but its still cool.
By the way, Mike, "oriental" is an offensive term these days, unless referring to products from that part of the world.
is oriental really offensive now?
a girlfriend I had in high school was from korea and she was adopted and a cheerleader for the football team, etc etc, she was cool, I called her oriental all the time. she didnt care. lol

This is what I'm saying.
This movie has absolutely nothing to do with Egypt, just so you know.
The first two Mummy movies are lots of fun, great action, and only a small bit of a guilty pleasure. I'm looking forward to this, but without Rachel Weisz, it could be weird.

In April, Fraser re-joined the cast for The Mummy 3, though Weisz did not due to the script issues.[15] The film was shot in Montreal[16] and China. The movie was reported to be titled The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.[17] In April, Luke Ford was cast as Alex O'Connell,[18] and in May, Maria Bello was cast to replace Weisz in the role of Evelyn. Bello reported during an interview that the new "Evy" is different from the original "Evy". "She has the same name, but she's quite a different character." said Bello. [19]
Those are always good signs.

The fact it's in 3-D automatically makes it better than this.
Either way, Brendan Fraiser is an atrocious actor.

Gods and Monsters? The Quiet American? He's been good in dramatic roles, but doesn't work in a big adventure movie like this.

I got dragged to see this last night and I do believe it is the worst movie I've ever seen. It was like the companies gave a 12 year old boy a director hat, a sandbox, and a multi-million dollar budget. Oo, I want yetis... a three headed dragon... a zombie army... and I want to go to China! Even the special effects were awful. Gah, so bad. It's a good thing I made up for it by seeing The Dark Knight again this morning.
