couldn't believe there wasn't already a thread! saw a song of theirs on a mix in general and didn't see much excitement over it when there definitely should be! an amazing jam band, influenced by a ridiculously wide range of great artists, they're a band i think everyone would enjoy no matter what you normally listen to. supposed to be getting a new album early next year. any fans?

I haven't seen them yet, but I would imagine they're amazing, as with most jam bands live.

the genre isn't really my thing, but for some reason Umphrey's and Maps & atlases are awesome.

i haven't seen them either, but that would be so amazing. i barely even listen to their studio albums, just the live ones. and i'm pretty sure it was your mix that had it on there, right? good call!

i know a lot of jam bands that people aren't too into because they're not into the genre either, but almost all of my friends love these guys even if they listen to a completely different kind of music normally.

Maps & Atlases isn't really a jam band, but cool that like you Umphrey's.

Yeah, that was my mix. In The Kitchen is not my favorite song, but I figured it was one of their more accessible ones.
I don't understand why everyone on here associates jam bands with frat boys. I think that's the main reason people on here don't listen to bands like Umphrey's, DMB, and Dispatch. They might be pleasantly surprised if they give them a chance.

i've never seen any one associate jam bands with frat boys. that doesn't even make sense to me in the least bit.. haha. i didn't know which song you put on, but it was a great mix overall. not a big fan of dmb, and i've never heard maps & atlases.

It doesn't make sense to me either.
I tried to tone down my mix a bit and put more of the popular songs rather than full out jam sessions.

it's true, i know a couple people that would appreciate a full out jam mix, but they probably have most of the songs you would put anyway. that's what happened with my mix anyway.

i haven't listened to safety in numbers in a while, but i was definitely in the mood for it today. 'nemo' is so great, there's not a one song of theirs that i can't really get into.

To each their own, at least you gave them a try and that's all anyone can really ask for

They always play Indianapolis 2 times evertime they tour or even when they don't. Which is super sweet. They also made a DVD here i think. They always sell out here, i wish more bands would be like them.

Yeah, they made a Live At The Murat disc which is wicked--I think I will see them in March.

I haven't check that out. usually when bands play there the sound is kind of horrible and to make a DVD there is pretty risky. Im def. going to watch it
