Can anyone recommend bands that are piano-pop based like Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five/Jack's Mannequin?
The fray are piano pop, but really not like ben folds.

Check out a band from Georgia called Modern Skirts. They don't use the piano nearly as much as BFF, but a lot of their songs are piano based and they have a similar vibe about their music.
And if you like Jack's Mannequin, have you listened to Something Corporate? It's the same guy, except I think SoCo is a lot better.
If you dig the male/female vocals thing with your piano pop, check out The Hush Sound. If you're too afraid of Fueled By Ramen bands to listen, don't worry, they're actually really good.

no joke. 'the walk' has many piano based songs. not so much like ben folds, but some songs are piano pop none the less. also, try the rocket summer.
