This is borderline self-promotion, but I figured 15k+ posts entitles me to throw it here I guess, especially since a few thousand of those are in this forum. This is a short documentary I made last semester on sleep deprivation/the college lifestyle/general American sleep style. I stayed up for 72 hours and documented myself in a similar vein as Supersize Me.
Figured I'd post it here for anyone interested in watching it, its 13 minutes and I'd love feedback on it. I just got accepted into the Princeton Film Festival today for it, entered several others as well...so I figured I'd also let fellow AP'ers know in case they wanted to check it out in person.
The video itself is here

And my website for the whole thing is here...it has a bunch of links, preview clips, and a running blog I have.

Nicely done.
I have pulled so many all nighters and have been sleep deprived all throughout college so this was really interesting to watch (however the longest period of time without sleep that i went was just about 60 hours). Good job, i enjoyed watching this.

question: what did you use to film and how much footage did you shoot?

Fantastic job, really enjoyed it. I loved the clock scene when it kept falling off the wall and the editing was great when the professor was talking about how you shouldn't drive.
43 hours of sleep is crazy, lol.

question: what did you use to film and how much footage did you shoot?
I used the Sony PD-170, our school just got them a year ago, great for color stuff and it worked well even in pretty low light scenarios.
I am not sure my exact shooting ratio...it was upwards of 6-7 hours of footage at least...so, that alone puts my ratio around 30:1. I have 6 DV tapes of footage specifically from this...and then a lot of my cover footage (the over-saturated desk/chalkboard writing sequence, the red bull/soda shots, etc) were shot on random tapes and imported.
