Eighteen Visions announced that they will be joining Finnish Goth rockers, H.I.M on their upcoming U.S. tour. Given H.I.M's platinum status in most of the world, as well as their huge buzz here, most bands would offer their soul to the Heartogram to get on one show. However Orange County's Eighteen Visions own the spot, blending a rock aesthetic, metallic rif***e, punk as fuck attitude and the energy of a hardcore show. A unique anomaly in the scene; a group whose music sets off the mosh pit but whose live show includes visual elements and a professional light rig. Show-goers to last fall's "Take Action Tour" would have seen the band headlining alongside such notables as Dillinger Escape Plan, Avenged Sevenfold and Poison The Well. The group took a short break from the road to record a new album with producer Mudrock (Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold), which is being mixed by Ben Grosse (Filter, Marilyn Manson, Sevendust). The upcoming result entitled "Obsession" takes the direction of last year's long player "Vanity" and steps it up a few light years. The knuckle-grinding furor and heaviness are in full form but so are soaring melodies tempered with leather rock grit and controlled dissonance. The result has opened the band up past hardcore heraldom to infect the mainstream. This was so noted when programs such as Hollywood Extra (NBC) voted their steamy video "You Broke Like Glass" one of the sexiest videos ever and Alternative Press declared 18v "The best dressed band to tear your head off."
