i absolutely loved kill bill. this was actually my first taratino movie that i've ever watched and i've become a big fan since. for some odd reason after watching this movie, i've become inspired to watch old school kung fu movies. it's great but everyone thinks i'm weird. meh...

See, it was a great film, but Tim Roth was not in it. It would have been the best toping reservoir dogs if he had been.
Hell ya...I can't wait to see the second one. I saw the first one like when it came out and i've been waiting oh so patiently for the next volume. Kill Bill is friggin awesome!

i think pulp fiction was better than reservoir dogs even though i love both of them.
the second KB looks so insanely bad ass i almost want to cry. it's so rad how it's like a kung-fu western.

04/05/04, 09:37 PM
dealers get shipments the day before they are to be released (that's how it works with cd's and dvd's) because what's the point of a release date if you can't get it on that date?

i hate to tell you different but, the rule that they get shipped the day before, is only if it is a special shipment (i.e. starwars, spiderman,... big budget movies) otherwise they are shipped the week before.

I've read a few early reviews and they're all extremely good. Rolling Stone, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and Ebert and Roeper all loved it. It just makes me even more excited for it.
I got a Kill Bill poster today...kick ass man...I got it up in my room now. Now I just need to get a poster for the second one!

Kill Bill Vol. 1 is on TNT right now, and it's hillarious. I've only seen on part so far:
You're name is Buck, right? And you're here to 'party' right?
they even edited his keychain so instead of Pussy Wagon it says 'Party Wagon'.
I can't wait till they get to the sword fight at the end, I can't imagine how they're going to edit out all the blood/slicing/heads getting chopped off.
FrancesTheMute

they edited the animated scene [the part with all of hte gushing blood]
i'm guessing that they'll just leave out the whole ending fight.

Yeah, 4 years later though. That's my point, I've been waiting about 3 years for the uncut box-set thing. He said in Dec 2005 he's been working on it and he planned on taking a year off (2006) from Kill Bill, then getting it out.
What's more exciting (and this could just be Tarantino thinking out loud) is that he stated that Kill Bill would be his 'Dollars' trilogy and he'd make one like every 10-15 years or whatever. And Vol. 3 would be about whats-her-face getting revenge on Beatrixx.

I have seen both films many times and adore them.
I have not purchased them yet however due to the fact that I want to have them as the one film, as was originally intended before the studio cut the film in half and sold it off as two parts.
I read a while back that QT was planning on editing the films together as a single film and giving it a small scale cinematic release, as well as a delux dvd release.
Anybody know what the word is on this?

You'd never know that QT has only directed 4.85 movies in his career. (Yes, 4.85. I counted "Reservoir Dogs (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/reservoir_dogs/)," "Pulp Fiction (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pulp_fiction/)," "Jackie Brown (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/jackie_brown/)," and "Kill Bill" as one movie apiece, "Grindhouse (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grindhouse/)" as a half, "Four Rooms (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/four_rooms/)" as a quarter, and he got 10% credit for "Sin City (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sin_city/).")

I liked the first Kill Bill but the second one was just sooo dull. It was the closest I've come to getting up and walking out of the cinema in a long time. I think they had enough matrial to make one good film rather than two not so good. Some of the dialogue in KBII was so poor like a bad QT knock off rather than the man himself.
Wild horses couldn't drag me to a third Kill Bill film.

Fuck that, I thought the second half was the better of the two. And the reason there are structural problems and the dialogue and action are so unevenly spread is because it was never, ever intended to be two films.
QT had edited the film, completely finished the film and set the release date when the studio demanded he split it into two films

Never saw this movie. Maybe I should sometime relatively soon
Fuck yes they are, I'm watching Volume 2 right now. Apart they're two of my favorite movies and together they're one of my favorites movies. Everythign about them is perfect. The huge climax in the first one is some of the best directed action I've ever seen and bits of dialogue and music in Vol. 1 never fail to blow me away, but Volume 2 dwarfs 1 in every way. Its like an epic revenge western where Samurai swords are used instead of guns. The Bill/Kiddo dialogue and fight is absolutely perfect the way it is. "You're not a bad person, you're a terrific person. You're my favorite person. You can just be a real cunt sometimes." When he gets up to walk away and Navajo Joe by Ennio Morricone plays, easily one of the most powerful scenes ever filmed.
Also- the fight scene between Elle and Kiddo. Absolutely perfect. THe way she enters, the music (Silhouette of Doom) and the eyeball... I get so many thrills from watching that scene. I adore these two films.

Quentin Tarantino announced he intends to make Kill Bill 3 in the next few years during "Parla con Me," an Italian talk show. He again says that he wants a 10 year break in between when the second one came out and when the third comes out, so that would be 2014. The 10 year time frame is because he wanted The Bride to have a break after everything she went through.
You can check out what he says starting at the 5:55 minute mark (it's a bit hard to hear because of the Italian translator).
There have been rumors of this before and him throwing around ideas but it's interesting for him to finally say he's planning something solid. I am very interested to see where he'll take this. The story is flexible enough for there to be another movie without it becoming redundant if he plays his cards right. I think he's smart enough to muck it up though.
Oh well, guess it's a game of wait and see.

i saw the first one and thought 'wtf this is terrible'..then my friends made me watch volume 2 when it came out and it makes the entire movie come together and make sense and just amazing. You have to see the second to appreciate the first.

Volume 3 couldn't really be called Kill Bill though could it.
I don't know how I feel about this. I like both of the films, but I think I'd also rather see him write new characters and stories. If Kill Bill were his best work, I'd totally be in for this, but it's just not.

I remember hearing about this when Kill Bill 2 came out.
It'd be about Vernita Green/Copperhead's daughter going after The Bride for the events in the first Volume.
I can dig it.

A Few Years Is Too Long :-( !!! But If You Think About It, He Was Talking About Inglorious Bastards Right After Kill Bill Came Out And Look How Long That Took. Man, I Hope This Come Out By 2011 At Least. I Hate Waiting... He's Such An Awesome Director And Soundtrack Is Always Sick!

If this does hit production I hope it's more like Vol 2, the first one was alright but the second was way better in my opinion.

Yeahh I was gonna say this until I saw it already posted. This was another reason why I heard he was waiting to make another movie so long to give Vivica Fox's daughter character time to grow up. She did watch her mom get killed right in front of her so that's a pretty good plot I think.

Never going to happen just like his Vega bros spinoff, anime Kill Bill prequel and Grindhouse sequel
Inglorious Basterds was "never going to happen" for a very long time

collectively the kill bill movies are one of my favorite movies of all time. there were some aspects of the story that i would have liked more detail on, but i really hope this doesn't get made.

And, I haven't watched it in a while, but if I'm remembering correctly, Elle was never killed, just blinded....

I remember reading that he wants it to be about the daughter of the first assassin he killed (Vivica A Fox) and how she seeks revenge against The Bride (remember she says to here when you are old enough you can come seek revenge on me), but he wanted 10 years to pass so that it would make sense that the daughter has aged and that Uma Thurman showed some age as well.
It's definitely going to happen seeing as Vol 1 & II are his best, most polished films to date.

Bill is dead. This would be stupid.

It was left kind of open ended. When The Bride was leaving the trailer, she was still alive. Now that I think about, he may have left it that way for a reason.

I hope he ends up doing the more faithful to the book version of Less Than Zero that he talked about doing awhile back. that would be amazing.
Because the book is so good and the movie fucking sucked.

I've read rumors that a possible title would be Kill The Bride and the release date would be 2014 since he wanted to wait ten years. I don't know that either of those tidbits are true, but I'd be down for it either way. Having Vivica A. Fox's daughter go after her would be pretty awesome. Maybe the two daughters could fight.
