I'm sorry - this article (http://cbs4.com/floridanews/FL--StudSuspension-dn/resources_news_html) just made me laugh. Now that all kids are safe from verbal and physical abuse, remove those distracting nose rings.

Well, I guess since kids are getting blow jobs in 3rd grade, nose rings are okay in 6th grade. I remember in 6th grade, when the kids first started "going out". . . how the hell do you take someone out on a date when you're 11 years old?!?!?!
If the school's dress code doesn't allow nose rings, then I have no problem, but what the fuck is wrong with the parents who allow their 11 year old to get a stud in her nose?? Shit, you might as well just put her out on the street corner now.

Because someone gets their nose piereced does not neccesarily mean they are going to be on the street corner. That is why the world is different and people make different choices. But I am sure there are more people to worry about than some little girl getting her nose pierced.
God damn I hate people... Hey lets limit the amount of time children can be outside... cause all that time they could be inside studying for an arbitrary test that will tell them whether or not they are failures for the first portion of their lives and by default the rest of it! YAY!

Here's my question, Jason: what the hell does this post have to do with George Bush? I mean seriously dude, come up with another posting header for political news if it doesn't have to do with Bush.

Not that I'm a huge supporter of Bush. But seriously I think tate blames everything wrong in the world on Bush. At least that is what I get from his icon being posted and obviously so do other people. I am sure they sent this up to the president and were like we have this girl in school with a nose piercing what should we do.

I don't think he was saying it has anything to do with the president. But it does have to do with politics, and the politics icon is a picture of Bush. I think the connection is unintentional.
But perhaps a better choice of icon would be the "Stupid Shit" one.

the excuse for using that icon is that its political, but i highly doubt that if bush loses the election he will use a john kerry icon.

First about the post.
Unless the ring is the size of a billboard and says fuck school and is shiny then it is stupid. I don't think the girl should be suspended for having it. My problem is with our society that is making kids grow up at a younger and younger age. The first reply touched upon this. I remember fighting my parents tooth and nail to get my ears pierced in seventh grade. Let alone a facial piercing.
I hate how Tate and some others here think George Bush is the second coming of Hitler. He is a conservative president, you don't agree with his politics, big deal, but he is not the worst thing in the world. He isn't this huge catalyst that will cause World War 3 either. I hate how it is so cool in this scene to hate Bush. Just because Fat Mike says he's a Nazi doesn't mean it's true.
That's another thing that pisses me off. I read where Fat Mike was like saying how the flaw with MTV's rock the vote thing is they don't tell you who to vote for so that is why he started Punk Voter. I thought a major aspect of being 'punk' is to think for yourself and make your own decisions.

This is simply a matter of someone needing to learn how to pick their battles. I'm sure she's sitting on her ass at home watching General Hospital and thinking, "Damn I'm a trend setter, I am standing up for my rights!" On the other side of the coin she could just remove the damn thing, go to school, and get a fucking education. I don't feel sorry for her, but she does have the right to protest. She's going to be one of those people who sues her workplace for discrimination too. I'm sorry we don't live in a utopian society where people like to be served food by people with shit oozing out of their news because of a bad piercing day. It's not a pretty sight.

first off this is a redonkulous article. its great to know that we can no longer be ourselves and have to start acting professional at the age of 12. Who gives a flying fuck if some girl wants to express herself with getting a nose piercing? She doesnt wanna look like everyone else in the damn world which i applaud. I got my lip pierced and plugs at age 15 because i damn well wanted to. and now that i am in college, my gpa has never once dropped below a 3.9 and am twice as intelligent as those cloned jock pieces of trash.
oh and by the way.....vote Bush in 2004, fuck all of these liberal statements trying to bash a president such as him.

Holy Shnikies people. He always uses the Bush icon for political stuff. When he uses it for something like this, 12 million kids go bitch. The replies section is to talk about the news, and Tate using Bush as an icon is not news. It's his site. Get over it.
And as for the girl, yea, getting a nose ring as a 6th grader is really young, but it is her choice and her parents choice. The school shouldn't be suspending her for it. How is forcing her to not come to class going to help her learn. There's a lot more important things to worry about. If she came to school dressed as a complete whore, yea, distracting. Bad. But a little stud hurts no one.

I dont see how this is news for this site at all but it's his site so he can do what he wants. I dont agree with the icon though, it has nothing to do with bush so just use one of the generic icons.

You put down someones stereotype of kids with peircings, and then made one about people who are "jocks". I am in no way a jock. I don't even play sports. but that just seems sort of hypocritical. "Who gives a flying fuck" if someone wants to play sports?

That is so wrong, yet hilarious.
On a side note. I don't care if some 12 year old girl wants to get her nose pierced, espescially if her parents are ok with it, but please don't say that getting piercings is a form of expression. I have no problem with it in any way or form (I really think the nose studs are hot on girls), but if you want to express yourself, do something more personalized such as a tattoo. That is a real artform, unlike putting pieces of metal through your skin. Also, suspending the girl for this is ridiculous.

Hey I live in Pensacola.....and the girl getting suspended is ridiculous. I don't know why that particular school feels like they need to run every aspect of everyone's life. They are always for doing something like this. Maybe it is just because that school is in a military part of town...I don't know.

Now I've seen some junior high students recently and I think a little nose rings is quite harmless compared to the clothing these 6th and 7th graders are wearing. Ask any male student what he finds to be more distracting, a girl with a minor facial piercing or a girl wearing a cami and miniskirt from American Eagle. If kids can get away wearing next to nothing, a nose ring really shouldn't be a problem.
