we are about a quarter into the new yr...and there have been a number of new bands...new cds...band break ups...etc...i was just wonderin what are everyones surprises of the year...mine are:
New CD: Get Up Kids "Gulit Show"...it restored my faith in them...after a disappointing last album
Best New Band: A tie: My American Heart (formerly No Way Out) and Best Interest...My American Heart I believe is great because for being so young they have such a good mature sound. and that they can only go up as they are out in the scene longer. Best Interest has been out for a while, but their new songs are a vast improvement and better in everyway that it seems they are a new band.
Shittiest Breakup: Saosin...its like the movie life all over again. they had so much potential. they were already one of the best bands on the scene and didnt even have a full cd out yet. i guess i will be stuck listening to the ep.
highly awaited cd release: straylight run and new found glory... i love all the straylight run demos and just hope that the new cd includes some of these songs...the new nfg song is one of their best songs ever. a vast improvement over any of the songs on sticks and stones
if anyone thinks of any categories to add...please do
