And before a flame war over the non-issue, please remember that the issue is not whether he sucks or not, or what he said/did/didn't do/appropriate or not, the issue is a non-elected government committee (FCC - with extreme ties to the leading party) deciding what you can and cannot watch and listen to.

The FCC has already hinted that cable TV, satellite radio and the internet may be next.

I worked on a Morning Radio Show for a year. I know what it feels like to be scrutinized and terrorized by station owners and the FCC. You cannot shut down free speech. You dont like it, shut it off.

Stern did nothing wrong. It is the repsonsibility of the listener/viewer to decide what is innapropriate for them. Don't want you're kids to listen to stern? Turn off your radio. Install a V-Chip, or simply throw your boombox out the window. Dont ruin it for the rest of us.

Why do we have a small group of pre-regan administration dumbasses at the FCC determine what you can and cant say. They allow Oprah to say "toss the Salad" but not Stern. Is its because its coming out the modern mothers' messiah or is it because Stern is seen as the antithesis of what the FCC is trying to bring down. Stern is Quality rule bending entertainment.

Why dont I just throw on my bathing suit from the 1840s and gawk at those crazy kids doing the charleston.

People think they can say anything at anytime anywhere they want. thats not true there are indecenecy laws that restrict our speech. FCC does suck and they have no right to do what they have been doing but no one is stopping them and i dont think anyone is going to stop them anytime soon.
