Wondering If Anyone was into Damien Rice. He's touring with The Frames as we speak. Going to see him for the first time in a couple weeks, wondering if I am in for a good show? .

Fuck yes, he's awesome. I haven't seen him live but "O" is a good album. In Thrice's lyric notes from "the artist in the ambulance" dustin says Damien Rice has a good live show.

Good recommendation, I like what I hear so far. The song "Carly" is good. I'm listening to the other two now. "Goodbye to Self Image" and "Your Own Regret"

yeah their pretty good. Their from my area I saw them last week at a local show. They were 10 times better in person, I mean their not awesome but their pretty decent.

Damien Rice was good as an artist, but he has lost my support now. AT live shows all he is doing is playing the same songs for 10 or 15 minutes because he has no new material to show the crowd. "O," however, was a fairly good CD for the acoustic set genre.

Damien Rice was good as an artist, but he has lost my support now. AT live shows all he is doing is playing the same songs for 10 or 15 minutes because he has no new material to show the crowd. "O," however, was a fairly good CD for the acoustic set genre.
Well I have never seen him play live yet... so i cant say that I'll be upset when he plays whatever he has because... whatever he has I have yet to see live. Sorry you have lost taste for him :(

Damien Rice is a stud.
But you can't properly understand a few of the tracks on "O" without having been to Ireland. Particularly "Older Chests". That song is so totally about Dublin.

I thought O was one of the best albums of last year. cannonball is such a good song. I think Damien Rice is beter than the Spill Canvas. Anyone think the same??

I completely agree. Cannonball is one of my favorite songs by him for sure. I do think that The Spill Canvas and Damien are neck and neck for me. I get two different feelings out of the both. Damien is more mellow and flowy, The Spill Canvas is but at the same time he has a pop punky edge to his voice which gives it something else. *shrugs*.

He is still pretty good, but I am still waiting for his sophomore album to see what the new material it is he speaks of. He has made some comments on how the new CD is much better than the old one. I hope that this stands true.

yeah well we'll have to see. If the second album isnt as good... I still stand by him. Maybe to support "O", Damien speaks the truth so he is prolly happy with what hes making at the moment.
