I remember reading that.
It's unnecessary. There was only three books, there does not need to be a fourth movie.

Hopefully they do it right. It would be tragic to mess up this franchise.

They better not screw this up cause that would be tragic.
I'm sure they'll do it right, I hope they don't mess it up. It should be great.

I know, it's already a great trilogy. What a catastrophe it would be if they screw this next one up.
I just hate how Hollywood feels they have to make a sequel for just about any film that makes some sort of profit.
Are they really that low on idea and that uncreative?

I loved Live Free or Die Hard but to say it was better than Ultimatum is ludicrous. They are different types of action films - Ultimatum was not only one of 2007's bets movies but is easily one of the best action films ever released.

The fact that Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon are on it has automatically made this good. Should be interesting to see what story they could come up with without being tied to the books anymore.
I remember reading that.
It's unnecessary. There was only three books, there does not need to be a fourth movie.
The second and third films weren't based on the books, were they? I thought they had their own plot seperate from the good trilogy.
Either way I'm looking forward to this. Bourne is fucking awesome.

I could've sworn there was more than three.
i love the bourne trilogy. i thought that the ending in the third was the best way to end it, so i'm kind of dissapointed that they are making another one. on the other hand like i said i do love them so i'm just hoping that they don't screw up and it turns out to be amazing.

they stopped following the books after the first movie. bourne supremacy is about Marie being kidnapped and taken to Hong Kong.
I could've sworn there was more than three.
Eric Van Lustbader took over the series... so all newer books are Rober Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne ______
so between the two authors there's at least 6, including Betrayal, Legacy and Sanction

Oh, gotcha.
As long Liman never directs one of these again and it's always Damon and Greengrass, then I'll be stoked.
I think this is a bad move, but who knows.

if this is anything more than terrible, it might be an upgrade of the third movie.

Am I wrong here. Are Supremacy and Ultimatum based off the books or do they just use the names?

the titles are the same, but the stories of the novels and movies are different.

That's what I thought. Pretty good stories considering it isn't a remake of the books.

What? Like others have said above the 3rd is the best one.
I guess that is your opinion, however off base it happens to be. The first two movies are not insanely great movies to begin with, but at least they were enjoyable. The third one was so terrible that it was barely watchable.

Matt Damon said he didn't want the story to continue past the third one unless they had written a story he approved of. I guess they did.

To be 100% honest with you, It has been so long ago since seeing the movie that I don't even remember what happened. I remember almost turning it off 10 times because i didn't like it so much, but decided since i payed 4 bucks on my tv for it, that i should finish it.

Supremacy is on tv now. I think I might watch Ultimatum after it. Love these movies.
Gotta say if this ends up being anywhere near the first three then even if it is just another moneymaker for Hollywood then it'll be worth a watch or two.
On the matter of the books though, I'm two thirds through the trilogy now..but I'm worried if I read these other Bourne books not by Ludlum it might..ruin it a bit for me.
Glad I watched the films before reading the books, rather than after, though.

only 3 that were written by Ludlum. there were others written by another author.

Supremacy & Ultimatum are completely different to the books though, and were still awesome. That's what's making me think this might still be decent, providing they haven't run out of ideas and put out some weakly written crap..

My uneasiness with this project stems from the fact that the trilogy had such a perfect ending -- for a trilogy. Each film improved upon its predecessor, and viewers couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to the series. While I have faith that the series will remain in good nature, I'm a bit weary that they feel the need to extend one of the truly great trilogies of our time.

It just seems like it's only being done because the studio knows it's a guarantee to be a huge hit. Another thing is that Bourne finally seemed to be content and have all of the answers he was looking for after the last one.

The fight choreography in Ultimatum was astounding, especially the scrap in the apartment in Morocco between Jason and Desh...they just kept upping the ante in each one and as long as they stick to that progression, I'm down for another one. I've always thought Matt Damon was a great actor, but never did I see him as an uncompromising badass until these movies.

Exactly. At least there's still the chance that a completely new and original story line can come through and produce another kick ass trilogy. Never know.
