I wanted to talk about (upcoming) Pixar releases in another thread. Please discuss Wall-E here (http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=361591)
THIS (http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/04/09/disney-and-pixars-full-animated-line-up-through-2012/) has a lot of info on Pixar's (and Disney's) upcoming animated films.
Pixar is going live action with John Carter of Mars (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401729/). Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) is directing a live action film too (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0832278/), but I'm not sure if Pixar is involved in that one.

Definitely looking forward to Toy Story 3.
But Pixar going live action? Why?

I have faith in anything Pixar chooses to do, and I generally enjoy most Disney movies.
I'm really looking forward to 1906, Brad Bird has made some of my favorite movies and I would love to see what he can do live action.

I love Pixar. Even their worst movies were still watchable.

Pixar has yet to make a bad film. Cars is their worst and even that's above average at worst.
Until The Bombs

It's unfortunate that it's the least inspired of their recent efforts that's getting a sequel, but it's probably the easiest to drum up a story for.

Haha, that seems to be the general consensus.

Maybe they're just trying to get it right this time.
Incredibles 2 would rake the both dough & hearts of fans.
Cars 2 is the equivalent Madagascar 2 in my head as far as hype goes.
I didn't think Cars or Madagascar were that good.
Until The Bombs
06/28/08, 01:56 PM
Comparing Cars to Madagascar is unfair.
yeah.
but i think equally, both are cosiderably undeserving of sequels.
they're both more appealing to a younger crowd.
Newt sounds pretty great.
I would love Cars a lot more if Larry the Cable Guy wasn't in it. I can't stand him.

At this point, the one I'm most interested in is Up. And screw all these 3-D movies, 3-D glasses do not work well with real glasses.
Up sounds like it'll be UPLIFTING.
fixed.
I like Disney-Pixar more than I like Disney. And yes, Up will save lives.

I don't there's one movie on that list I'm not interested in seeing.
The Bear and the Bow also sounds great.

I'm hoping this is Cars2.

I meant to say I don't think there's one movie on that list I'm not interested in seeing. Cars was certainly Pixar's worst effort, but I think it a little above par in terms of animated films. It wasn't great, but it wasn't awful, either.

I forgot about Madagascar. I didn't like that very much either.

uh oh smmoreo

John Carter is, so I've heard, going the route of Roger Rabbit and the like, a combination of live action and animation.

"You have heard it said that there are but two constants in the universe: death and taxes. It's time a third constant was added to the list: Pixar can do no wrong."

Cars 2? Meh.
Take Larry the Cable Guy out of the film and maybe I'll see it.

I'm sorry, but unfortunately I now have to inform you that you fail at life.
I liked it but I'd rank as Pixar's worst. Which is funny, because I still love it.

Only kidding...I just can't understand how people can't love that movie.

I'd rather have more original concepts than Toy Story 3 and Cars 2, but those will be good. I actually liked Cars.

I think a main reason why I didn't love Ratatouille was because so many people i know hyped it up to be the best thing ever, and I saw it with too high of expectations that just weren't met.

Have you seen WALL-E yet? Cause if that was the case with Ratatouille, I can't imagine how you'll enjoy it as much as you should.

Monsters Inc. is my favorite. I never get tired of how charming that film is.
Cars is literally the only film that failed to capture my interest. What's great about Brad Bird's Pixar films is that they are completely different in tone and style from the rest. They really aren't for everyone but I still think they are some of the best Disney films period.

One of my favorite things about Pixar movies is the little references to other Pixar movies. I'm still finding things after seeing a movie 4 or 5 times.

Newt and Toy Story 3 for sure. I love everything Pixar does. I love their shorts especially. One of my favorite things about going to see Pixar films.
