The other night at The Ataris show at Chain Reaction Kris said that sometime this summer they will be doing a show at Chain Reaction where they play the whole Anywhere But Here album. He also said that they will be recording their new record this July, and also said that before it comes out they will be doing a small tour of small clubs, like the Chain Reaction.

Let me clear up something first of all. Yes, Kris said that they will be doing an entire show with Anywhere But Here. Unfortuately, this show may not be at the Chain. On the Ataris board, Kris did have this to say after the chain show:

Yes, we plan to do this. No, I do not know exactly when. It will be one time and one time only. So if you like this record and you want to hear these songs you should pay attention and get your tickets right when they go on sale. One would assume the expected place for us to do it would be in California but I would think that doing it in Indiana would probably be more appropriate. Who knows? Anyways we will let you know when we figure it out. It will likely be sometime in the early summer (likely June) before we start recording our new record. We will likely do a couple week tour of all small size venues at this time. example size of Chain Reaction, Fireside Bowl, Otto Bar, Continental type places. Stay tuned. Right now we will be continuing to write our next record. P.S. The only reason I wouldnt want to do all four albums in a row is because I feel that it will already be too much information to relearn and try to absorb and maintain twenty songs worth of inforamtion for one show let alone trying to re learn every song off of every record at once. This to me would just take away from us performing a single record to the best of our ability. We had this idea a while back but I figured that we already play alot of songs of those other records as it is, and we have recently added some of the better songs that we rarely ever played from those records anyway but we still don't play many songs off of our first record due to the fact that many of them are outdated, so that feels like the most logical and fun thing to do at this point and it would just be a cool and nostaligic challenge to go back and try to play all those songs again, and I figure that once we do this we will end up enjoying playing a couple of them and probably end up re-adding them to our normal set and then some of them we can just finallyput to rest. JOY! Take care and talk to you all again soon. your friend, -kris

Also, as an FYI. The Ataris will be doing two more free shows in Los Angeles. Those tour dates are located on the Ataris Board in the Tour section. Thank you.

while reading this i was scared. up until the end i thought they might "retire" all their songs off of Anywhere But Here. this is cool that they wanna go out and do this. i think maybe it will help them put the same feel of their older stuff into their new record.
