Survivor or Choke.

Survivor, easily. I prefer the movie version of Fight Club, and Choke was all right, but it kinda grossed me out. And I have Haunted and Lullaby on my shelf but haven't read them yet.

Start at the beginning with Fight Club. Survivor is my favorite, but it'd be better to get into his style first.

Jared Kaufman

I hate Lullaby.

oh totes
06/28/08, 08:12 PM
probably fight club.
unless you've seen the movie.
for me its harder to read books after seeing the movie.

choke is probably my favorite (or rant) but i tried to get my friend to read it and she said it was too slow in the beginning. but it was the first book of his i read.

Fight Club. It's the only book of his I've read.

I've only read Survivor and Fight club. Both were really entertaining. I'm happy everyone is saying Choke is his best cause I just started it.

Survivor was definitely my favorite by him. I really enjoyed reading all his others, but they're really forgettable, at least for me.

I didn't like Invisible Monsters.

Batman138
06/29/08, 02:28 PM
I started with fight club and read them in the order they were published, that is the best way to do it in my opinion.

Until The Bombs
06/29/08, 02:35 PM
Hated Invisible Monsters.

I think I'm going to end up reading them in order. That sound like a good plan.

Fight Club, because it'll get you used to his style of writing, at least it did for me.

most will disagree with me but lullaby was my favorite

i went with Invisible Monsters because there's enough action in there to keep you interested right from the start and guide you through his style of twists and plot revelations

Until The Bombs

God no Invisible Monsters. So bad.

What did everybody think of snuff?

I enjoyed it, it was a humorous read, not as deep or good as his earlier works but it was still fun to read and overall enjoyable. The only thing is I guessed the big twist really early on in the book.

I went with Other, as in none of them.

While I think he's a decent writer, none of his works captivated me at all. Invisible Monsters is by far the most horrible in my opinion. I still haven't read Survivor but I actually want to because people tell me how good it is. Other than that, his books are garbage. Choke let me down, Fight Club was meh. The fact that every single book has to do with sex and/or drugs in some way annoys me. There are other things he can write about.

Right now I'm reading his non-fiction book "Stranger Than Fiction: True Stories" and even that is boring me.

I agree. I've read all his books, and they all have to do with sex in one way or another. There's only so much you can read of that in every book. I hated Invisible Monsters too. I don't see what everyones infatuation with that book is.

Read Dairy first. It was my personal favorite. Lullaby was actually really good as well.

I read Invisible Monsters first, but I would suggest Fight Club.

i really like diary, mostly because the main theme is the idea that suffering and sacrifice are required to do great things...........but i'd go with choke to start just because i thought it was disgusting yet hilarious.

Lullaby. It had a great plot.

07/05/08, 08:42 PM
Choke, then Fight Club, then Survivor, then Invisible Monsters, then Lullaby, then Diary.

that was my order!

Read fight club.

Then Survivor.

Then stop.

Not a bad idea. You can throw in Choke, but I find it vastly overrated.

I started on Survivor, then moved to Invisible Monsters, Lullaby and Choke. Survivor is still my all time favorite.

Choke wasn't bad but I thought it would be way better than it was.

Fight Club. I'm also one of the few that really liked Diary, too.

Invisible Monsters. Go with chronological order. Fight Club came out first, but he wrote Invisible Monsters first.
