Does anyone know any bands that sound like Mae or The Get Up Kids?
I really like the style of these two bands and if you know any others that sound like them, tell me please. Big or small, it doesnt matter. Thanks.

The above bands are good, but Mae makes me think like power pop bands......like........FM Static, Spitalfield ( but they are more pop punk ), The Rocket Summer ( nearly everyone who loves Mae loves them, they go hand in hand ) So defintely check out the Rocket Summer. I've tried to find new bands that sound like Mae too, but no one really measures up.

Also, I dont think Armor for Sleep, Death Cab, or Number One Fan sound like Mae and not really the Get up Kids, those 3 bands make me think of Copeland or maybe Jimmy Eat World, all great bands though.

The Format, oh yes, one of my favorite bands. Good recommendation. Limbeck is a good band too, if you end up liking the Format

Jimmy Eat World just puts me in a happy, good mood... and those 3 bands do the same haha. But if you like old Get Up Kids, maybe you'd like The Promise Ring. And from The Promise Ring comes a lot of possible bands you'd like.

I saw Limbeck a couple weeks ago. They put on a good show, but the crowd wasn't really feeling them too well. It was with T.E.N., Spitalfield, and Park (not their type of crowd)... The Progress is good too.

Yea, weird lineup, but Limbeck used to be pop punk, but i'd put em in with alt - country now same as the Format, Lucero, bands like that.

Pete Yorn, I heard a song in Hellboy ( so so movie ), and his voice made me think of Johnny Cash, I dont konw if that is a good comparison or not, but I'll check him out. Do you listen to Whiskeytown? I love their albums, so great.

Ben Harper - Live From Mars is one of my favorite cds. Do you mind giving me some Jack Johnson songs? The one w/ Ben Stiller in the video wasnt that good to me, but you seem to know good music. Did you ever hear the Counting Crows album Vh1 Storytellers? It was from the 2 disc Across the Wire album. All Acoustic, another great album.

Flake (this is the one that got me into him, but I think it's his most upbeat)
Bubble Toes
F-Stop Blues
Posters
Mudfootball
The News
(basically his whole Brushfire Fairytales CD is kickass)
Nah, I never got to hear that Counting Crows one... but August and Everything After is one hell of an album.
