Yeah, Is It Me? is pretty good, nothing too crazy-awesome-kickass, but it shows potential. Another song posted would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know, i was f*ckin excited for the CD, i was so pumped up. but then i heard "Is it me? is it true?", and i didnt really like it. I think they're trying to change too much. I like the old midtown.

they're just developing their sound. just like sugarcults new release. i think "is it me, is it true" is brilliant. its very unique and sophisticated. i love it.

am I the only one that thinks the midtown newsletter is the most cocky / stuck up email ever? I love these guys...but they just sound like they are rock stars now...

I even unsubscribed from the newsletter because it was so annoying... Whoever wrote it sounds like the most self-righteous person ever...

and is it me is it true was a stupid song...

Sarcasm anyone????? Seriously, if you didn't pick up on that, go off yourself. Anyway, I'm semi-pumped for this cd. I think Living Well....is the perfect pop-punk album but with enough balls to not be so sugary. I'm hoping this new one isn't all emo and they don't pull a Blink-182 on me. I want some fun music.

And I think Is It Me? Is It True? is a great song. I love the part where he goes 'Sex is old, old and boring, when you're feeling nothing, YEAH SOMETHINGS GOTTA MAKE YOU FEEL.' Haha, thats so cool.

U kidding me? A band has a name that is more than three words or that actually says something and their copying BN. I find that hard to believe since they cite Midtown as one of their heroes

The new midtown songs totally sounds like they tryed to copy murder by death. I think its good and I think midtown are good, but trying way 2 hard.

I enjoy how any news post about midtown automatically creates 25+ posts in the forum. Also, The names of the songs sound cool, but they don't mean crow if the songs aren't good.

they sound like songs from The Artist In the Ambulance or Illusion of Safety, but that's just me :smilies27

one song can hardly constitute the sound of an entire band though

You can't judge a band/release based on one song, you moron.

P.S. It's "fuckin'".

Wow. How can anyone read those emails and not interpret it as sarcasm? You must live in a whole different world.

Although gabe IS the greatest thing since sliced bread (haha), those emails are entirely sarcastic.

Yeah im definately looking forward to a fun cd this year, i like emo but its time for more of a cheery atmosphere! and with a song titled "Hey Baby, Dont You Know that Were All Whores?" how could you not wet yourself waiting for the release!?

About the song titles. Whatever, I mean descriptive long titles are more fun. It's been done before, no one is ripping anyone.

And to the music. The show at the Knitting Factory was really good. I am not the hugest Midtown fan, but the new stuff sounded really good. Heath's riffs on some of the new stuff is just insane. I look for this to be a very solid album and can't wait for it.

yea considerin its months till its release alot of people have already heard it. are they just tryin to build up anticipation or summit. those names really struck me as tryin too hard. like why release the track names ages from release. with names like that tho they're gonna make a stir, which midtown want. They wanna make it big.
"armaggedon mother fuckas" and "Hey Baby, Dont You Know that Were All Whores" just sound abit i dunno, hey ladies and gents we've suddenly hit emo. i swear there was no swearin in their last effort, does anyone else find the frequent use of the f-word a cheap ploy for crap music (see mest live ull no wot i mean). i mean im not all censorship, but why does everyone use fuck and hardly ny1 use shit or milder words, its not a choice of word its lets appeal to little kids who say the f-word constantly.
as for the other titles tho "living well is the best revenge" is quite a "brand new-ish" title, i dnt think they're doin nything new, just doing it for songs as well.
one final point, the trademark harmonies were none existent on is it me, which after moaning abt i admit i dnt mind that much now. but, 2 those who've heard it, are the gone for good or was it just a single song?

A) "Armageddon, Motherfuckers" came out naturally: they were doing an interview at the start of the summer of '03 when Tyler was joking around and said that he really wanted to call LWITBR "Amageddon Motherfuckers." So I'm sure it was rooted in that.

B) Any whore-referenced line = thumbs up. "Worldy, like a sailor; street-smart like a whore!"

C) Track names generally are released wayyyyyyyyyyy before the CD is released so I have no idea what you're talking about there. Saves the Day released their "In Reverie" listing around 3 months before the actual release in September. This applies to many other bands, but that's the specific one I remember.

D) I don't know about them using profanity in songs, but they use it frequently in their everyday lives so I don't know how that could be "forced."

E) "Living Well Is The Best Revenge" embodies everything (I would guess) that was happening to them at that point. The only Brand New album I've listened to is "the most overrated of '03", err, I mean "Deja Entendu" and that album came after LWITBR so I can't see any connection to that.

E) The harmonization is still there. I don't know what to the extent of, but it's there (I think they have great harmonization in "Give It Up" - I could be wrong about the song title though.)

Yeah but it seems to be more the bands who want mainstream sucess who do it Saves the Day, NFG, i dunno maybe your right

Fair enough, just personally I think having to resort to swear words shows lack of lyrical depth. hopefully i'll be proved wrong

Sorry maybe I didn't make it clear, I was defending Midtown on that point. I don't think you can say a band is rippin of Brand New everytime they come up with an original title. Take Fall Out Boy, great titles, but nothing like Brand New.

E) The harmonization is still there. I don't know what to the extent of, but it's there (I think they have great harmonization in "Give It Up" - I could be wrong about the song title though.)

Way Great! just to point out, sorry if it sounded like a rant, i am looking forward to this record just voicin my concerns, hopefully this album will be great, i look forward 2 b-in able 2 stream it like the email promised and eventually get it. Living Well was good buy not perfect so lets see how they do.

I though Brand New were overrated, but then i heard your favourite weapon. amazing album, also made me appreciate Deja more, or at least made me listen 2 it proper. Anyway 2nd rant over.
