I finally rented and watched this after hearing and reading so much about it. I have to say, I could not sit through the rape scene. After just a few minutes of it I had to get up and start fast forwarding because my body was literally shaking. Can't remember the last time I felt like that while watching a movie.

i felt the same way about the fire extinguisher. can't find a redeemable quality about this film.

Yeah, the fire extinguisher was pretty awful too. This was a taxing movie to sit through. I thought I was prepared but I was definitely not.

I thought it was incredible. A task to watch, but the disorienting camera work was just mindblowing. The scene at the end in the park when the camera started spiraling around the sprinkler made me feel so strange.

I don't get how people say a film has "no redeeming features" or that it's bad purely because it make you feel uncomfortable or out of your safety zone. That is the mark of either an exploitative film, or a truly powerful one. I would consider this film to be in the later category, considering the astonishing cinematography and acting on display.

Not sure what I think about it yet. I'll give it credit for the fact that it is definitely powerful, definitely makes you think, definitely makes you feel something. But did I like it? I don't think so...
