View Full Version : Bands That Sound Like Alesana

Achi

I'm like, COMPLETELY in love with the band Alesana, but I've heared every one of their songs at least 100 times so I'm looking for some new bands with some new sounds.

I have a WIDE collection of music so if you could recommend some small bands instead of well-known bands I'd really appreciate it :)

Thank you in advance

there is no one on the level of alesana. they've taken "scene" music as far into unlistenability as it will go.

If you want something that sounds like Alesana, eat a lot of baked beans, like a shit load, take some laxatives, and listen to yourself shit for an hour.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this is an accurate statement.

A Skylit Drive sounds 100% identical to Alesana. Or at least their EP "She Watched the Sky" does.

.......what is wrong with you?

i got an alesana cd from a friend, listened to it once, and then neatly put it back in its case.

the next time i took it out was when i needed an object to smash with my newly bought baseball bat.

I remember when I got their album last year. If you want something that sounds similar, go to Target/Wal-Mart (anywhere cheap), purchase some of the shittiest silverware you can find. Open the packaging, go around back, and hurl the silverware into a metal dumpster.

No need to hate on Alesana, their vocalist (Dennis) goes on about how they suck and their CD is horrible every time I've seen them live (which is like four times).

They know they suck, so no need to try to rip them apart online.

Fine, I'll fucking rip on you for being a little bitch and seeing Alesena four times, but I guess that those go hand in hand.

Harsh and unnecessary.

I happened to see them twice at Warped, once with A Day to Remember and another time with the Chariot. So it's not all bad dude.

Dude, I thought this thread was for helping him find a band that's similar to Alesana. If you don't like Alesana, then don't trash him, or talk trash about them. Just get off the thread, simple as that.

But to answer your question, The Fall of Troy is sorta similar. You'll probably like them.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised somebody from Pullman's acting like a total asshole. Makes me even happier that we walked in there and kicked your ass in December.

Dance Gavin Dance doesn't sound exactly like Alesana but DBM and DBM2 are within the same ballpark so you should check those records out. They're a lot better, too.

I have friends who go to WSU and we're always assholes to each other about the rivalry, I don't have a real problem with Pullman

I am honestly suspecting that there is some sort of twin paradox happening in this thread. And if we found a way to live inside it, we would live forever.

Achi, I have yet to find a band that incorporates so many different styles, genres and instruments as well as Alesana, however! Dance Gavin Dance is often jazzy with off-beat lyrics that don't make any sense half the time (it makes it fun to learn them haha); A Lot Like Birds (album: Plan B) has an odd way of putting different sounds together to make amazing, but this album rarely sings/screams; and if you're into something a bit crazier and nonsensical Horse The Band (album A Natural Death) is really good nintendocore/mathcore.
HOPE I WAS ACTUALLY HELPFUL!! Good luck on your music search. I know it's a pain in the ass.
