What should I do?

So I'm in a band right now, and it's going pretty good.
The problem is, even though we're making music people like,
I don't really like it. I want to be in a pop/punk or a pop rock band,
but somehow it sort of changed into an alternative rock band.
Also, we haven't had a bass player in like a year, so thats kind of weird.
Plus the guys I'm with now don't really like the music I do. But like I said,
people like our music, and our career is going fairly well.
But some of my friends who like my kind of music are in a band,
and they need a singer an guitar player. (That's what I do).
I can't decide if I want to join them, or stick with the band I'm in.
I know I'll have more fun in the other band, but I'll be leaving a lot
of half-finished projects and letting down a few people If I leave the band I'm in.
So my question is, should I leave behind what I've already done,
and start a band that would be more fun, or should I stick with the band I'm in?

Which one in the long road will you be happier with/see yourself with. If your not happy then you should leave. If you stay it could potential cause more problems in the future for your current band. Just sit there and think about it for a little while. Weigh your options, and figure out what you want either in the short run or the long run.

I don't see a point in you making music you don't like, even if others do. Staying in that band will just cause problems later on, it would be better to end on good terms and move to the band that you really want to be in. I was starting a band and it didn't really go where I wanted to, the entire thing blew up in my face and it was no fun for anybody. Do what makes you happy.

It's better to advice your actual band now to give them some time ..
