now, they had to know they'd draw comparisons to ratatouile because it looks like a total ripoff. you'd think the least though could do was not make the title similar as well.
who says all rodents are french?
3/4 rats in all the world are french

I really don't like how they cast voices sometimes too.

Yeah, the trailer didn't really pull me in at all.

This upsets me. Much like Because of Winn Dixie, the book is so much better. I like Kate Dicamillo and the movies made from her books really are not accurate portrayals of the themes she's writing about.
This actually looks pretty good.
it's reminding me of a Secret if Nimh type rodent story.
boo-hoo they're french.

Actually, the book for The Tale of Despereaux was written before Ratatouille was even conceived...

The book this is based on is actually REALLY good, easily one of my favorite childrens books of all time. The trailer looks pretty lame but im thinking they are just trying to sucker in people with the ratatouille comparisons, sort of how bridge to terebithia made their trailer seem like it was a complete narnia ripoff. Atleast im hoping so, im would be pretty bummed if they screwed up the movie.

It was a book? I didn't realize that.
Seems like they made the movie to bank on Ratatouille's success. I see a lot of similarities in the trailer ... doesn't look very appealing, personally, but I guess books about mice are popular.

How exactly are the titles similar? Because they are both French sounding? Would you say all the movies with English names all have similar titles?
ALUmKa_mpik
they really aren't that similar.
Get over the whole french rat thing.
plus this rat isn't a bloody cook
it's weird how so many try to aspire to the vision of the first poster in a thread.

Besides the French rat thing, I swear I saw a quick scene in a kitchen with a chef.
It's not a big deal, I didn't realize it was a book people enjoyed. I just saw some similarities.
Too many books and films with rats/mice as the main character. They need to find a new rodent to center on.
