I checked wikipedia and it wasn't there. And if it wasn't there then obviously the information doesn't exist.
pretty sure they did it at the same place as lydias latest album.

Goodnight Moon was alright - a good chunk of well-done songs on there. But the new album sounds like a lot of the glossy powerpop stuff everyone is doing, and I can't understand why this band has gone down this road. I remember their old demos from years ago were so much better, and now they're just repetitive.

completely agree, except i thought goodnight moon was more than alright but i dont understand their reasoning for switching their sound. i think when its officially released, a lot of people are going to be let down.
didn't matt thiessen help out with this?

yup, i forget what exactly he did but of course he played piano. i know he helped write, wether it was one song or more i'm not sure. and he probably did some back up vocals.
yeah that's cool. i'd like to know where he contributed. anyway, i've been enjoying this cd for a few weeks now. it does sound a little different, and it does sound more like a lot of stuff that's out right now, but i like it a lot. i feel as if it's a solid follow-up, although I'm not sure how much staying power it has.

When I popped the leak in a few weeks ago, I was so thrown off. I thought I had accidentally gotten Forever The Sickest Kids or something.
There were hints of this sound discreetly placed on Goodnight Moon but now it's taken over the album, like they simply feel it's necessary for success. I was just so surprised. And it sucks Matt Thiessen helped out on this album ... I respect what he's done.

thats true, atleast for these guys i believe their sound changed because they did, not just cause they wanted to fit in and make some money.
and i've never really been able to get that into relient k, i've listened to mhmm and five score a few times but never really payed that close attention, are they worth given more listens?

well i think once i've got good enough doses of the new htl and maine i'm gunna have to listen to them then. i never thought they were bad, just nothing really ever pulled me into them.

ok well once you get done with that go ahead and listen to mmhmm some more. and really listen/give it a chance. i personally think it's one of the best pop-punk/powerpop records to come up in recent years. actually you know what...read a short ap review on it from back in the day. that might convince you to give it a spin. here you go... http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=97407 -on a side note i am looking forward to new hit the lights as well, although I will be picking up The Bird and the B-Sides today.

The band gets pigeonholed into a Christian music market but has written an extensive variety of great pop and pop-punk songs. Their more recent material is a bit on the mellower side (as compared to their first few records), but I think they are undoubtedly one of the music scene's best pop bands out there. They don't write fluff, they put a lot of care into their songs - and it shows.
Probably the reason why so many bands ask Matt to assist them on records.
...listen to this man. he speaks the truth.
