I hadn't made a thread for the Magnetic Fields yet? Perhaps the search function isn't working. Anyway, celebrate their awesomeness!

This thread is brought to you by my listening to the song "Why I Cry".

can't stop listening to 'strange powers' lately; the song moves along in such an effortless yet delicate manner that is so addicting. holiday is an underrated record

I support this opinion. Either my second or third favorite after, of course, 69.

Laying in my bed listening to this while snowing is probably the best thing to happen in a long time.

Post your favorite Magnetic Fields lyrics.

And I always say 'I love you' when I mean turn out the lights.

Ciao, you keep on drowning in the roads between the towns
I have been closing all the shutters in the house.
Well, I know you'll be back when every tree is turning brown,
You'll find the house is empty and the swingset's fallen down.

I can show you sadder poetry than you ever dreamed there could be. I know all the saddest people, most of them are dead now.

You have to fly around the world all day to keep the sun upon your face. I'd like to come and comfort you, but I'd be blinded by the blue. You have the sun, I have the moon.

I know that you were never young, and I know you probably won't get old. But honey, nobody's going to hurt you no more, and nobody's going to make you want to die.

It's the one I started with and is still my favorite. You can't go wrong with Holiday as a starting point either, but I do think 69 Love Songs is easier to get into, even with the overwhelming amount of songs on it.
