It seems like no one remembers game 1 when the Boston fans booed the Canadian anthem right before the singer started to sing the American anthem.

that is because that didn't happen.

and this isn't the first time they were booed in montreal. and i'll admit it was the minority of fans, still lame though.

How do you know it didn't happen? Fans yell and boo during the anthem all the time, it only gets reported when it's someone in another country.

Another example, when the Pens and Montreal were playing in the playoffs a few years ago, the Canadian anthem was booed.

well, at any rate, booing any national anthem of your neighbor/ally/friend is lame, no matter if you are canadian or american or mexican or whatever...

It is lame, but when the teams are hated and the teams are representing their countries(i.e. The Canadians) I think it's easy for fans to associate the anthem with the team.

the irony is that there are canadian players on the bruins and american players on the canadians, so you are pissing of the players on your own team.

Oh well.

What if someone went down the street singning some anthem for Saddam...would you cheer? Or boo? They don't agree with what we are doing...I guess. This is how they feel they can react to things.
