I'm surprised I didn't know of Veil of Maya..but they definitely sound better than Born of Osiris. The guitars have more going on.

Veil of Maya has more interesting guitar parts but their vox aren't very well presented so I'm saying Born of Osiris.

I think Born of Osiris is way better.
Veil of Maya is decent, but it is still way to generic, born of osiris is a little more original then all the other deathcore/grind bands that have come out recently, I really like their keyboard parts (especially in Abstract Art).
Both are very good bands live though (unfortunately I just missed seeing Born of Osiris last night)
two metalcore band sound the same, wtf?!?!?

I can't stand Born of Osiris, They sound way to over produced, and I just can't get into them.

Converge will probably end up being the right answer.

Born of Osiris only has 8 songs on their cd, and they call it a Full Length. That's lame. I went to go buy it, and then I stood debating whether or not I wanted to spend 14 dollars on 8 songs. I ended up buying it though.

BOO is not over produced.
I went to one of their shows, it was fantastic.

Yeah, a live show would definately explain the production of their music.

They sound just as good live as they do on the CD.

That's pretty impressive then. They are definitely over the top clean on their cd though. It's not that what they are playing is difficult, it's just the fact that it's so choppy, that it sounds fake the way they recorded it. I mean, listen to August Burns Red or even Underminded, neither of those bands sound as fake as BOO on cd, and they are pretty much just as choppy.
And by choppy, I mean all their random pauses and stops, if you didn't know that already.

I will just stick with Converge, Botch, TDEP, and Coalesce.

at least you mentioned Coalesce. People tend to never mention them.

Are you serious? Veil of Maya is not generic AT ALL. BOO isn't bad either, but Veil of Maya absolutely blows them away in musicianship. And they don't use gimmicks such as the song Bow Down to get big.

The song Veil of Maya took their name from is better than both
Does this help the debate? Live Born of Osiris video I did for them:

I think Kristof and Getupanddance both won this discussion.
