scotty nguyen won the 50k horse, that's the best event in the tourney in terms of field strength anyway. the main event is just a huge donkfest.

very true
hellmuth donked off his chip lead in the little horse last night and came third in it. thought he was gonna get the twelfth bracelet then.
nguyen tipped all the dealers $20 bucks each... his winnings were over $500k i believe?

20 bucks each, lol. that's pathetic.
i haven't been paying attention, how have the online players been doing? i'd heard they're kicking ass this year.

Horse is unbelievable. I only play that for play money. Donkfest is an understatement. Half of the kids in the last 50 practically rivered their way there.

most innaccurate (and popular) poker statement ever. you want the donks there, believe me. they're going to get lucky on you from time to time but you have a much greater edge over them than you do good players.

how many hands per game? and what was your winrate before that? no limit cash?

i know, its just the the psychology of suckouts makes you remember them moreso than other results. people tend to forget all the times their KK held up to A3, but those few times that the A busted them on the river will stay with them forever and make them curse the donks.
when a donk busts me like that i shake his hand...then go puke.

i multi-table sngs, i know theres a lot of variance. i play differnet levels too, all of them low-limits, so i know theres alot of those donkeys. before this, i dropped 1000 playing low-limits and quit for a couple of months.

just play turbos and play tons of them (better hourly). 600 games is nothing.
i thought this was a sports forum.
it is, but we've talked poker in here before. i know its not a sport, but it's competitive and i don't really see another place on the site where poker would fit.

not in our opinion..
officially it is though.
i guess if its on espn and even though it may not be a sport we can discuss it here, a lot of people seem to know their shit about WSOP. I was part of the poker craze for about a year and a half. Senior year of high school and part of my first year of college but I've lost interest. Blackjack and penny slots for me in vegas!

Who says everything in the Olympics is a sport? There are things in the Olympics that aren't sports. That has nothing to do with difficulty, per say, but there are definitely non-sport events competed in the Olympics.

i never said it was an event, i said it was a sport.
and it is recognised by the Olympics as a sport.. as is bridge...
seriously, was there any need to say anything?
and can you please create an entire separate forum for poker for me please. thanks.
chess and poker are not sports. it takes no athletic ability whatsoever to sit at a table and throw cards and chips around. its a mental game i'll give you that but its not a sport. a 500 pound man can play poker professionally and be good at it but that in no way makes him an athlete or poker/chess a sport.

But Tiger Woods isnt a real athlete!!!
wait you want an entire forum for poker? so we have the general forum, entertainment forum, sports forum, music forum, politics forum, personal forum and a poker forum? tate would love that one.

It WAS recognized as a sport, maybe (I'm not convinced having it as an event means it's a sport), just like rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming...
I enjoy poker, but it belongs in the entertainment forum, not sports. Anything that requires absolutely no physical activity is not a sport, I don't care what some governing body gave into because of whining chess players.
But Weebs Bobby Fisher is the best athlete to ever live.
