When it was announced that this was coming out with Brett Rattner attatched I figured it would be a horrible Idea, sort of a Dr.Doolittle/Daddy Day Care with guns, in other word family friendly.

But......Ratner says:
"Dont believe everything you read on the internet. Believe me, this is going to be a hard core 'R' Beverly Hills Cop. I start shooting next year" Eddie Murphy also gave his thoughts on why he was doing it:
"Because the third 'Beverly Hills Cop' was horrible!" the once and future Detective Axel Foley laughed. "I didn't want to leave it like that. The first two were cool and the third one was sh---y. [Let's] get the franchise fixed again, clean up this old mess and do a good movie."

Ratner isn't that bad compared to a lot of filmmakers. He has talent and ability and honestly, a Beverly Hills Cop movie is probably the type of stuff he should be doing regularly.

And if they give Murphy the money, he'll do anything.

Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2 are so fucking good. They don't make movies like that anymore today.

If everything does work out and Murphy does stay on board this will be a great movie, especially if it does go back to the format of the first two.

First two are great. Worth a rent. I saw 3 as a kid and remember loving it, but it might not hold up as well as the first 2. Damn Wally World.

i loved all three. the third one was definitely a few notches below one and two, but i still enjoyed it.

foley's such a fucking great character.

i miss that eddie murphy.

Can't be any worse than the movies he's doing now, and as for Brett Ratner, I didn't mind Rush Hour 3 that much.

one had a good storyline and character development that set two up to be as awesome as it was.
