Are you kidding?! I just met up with Socratic on Saturday at the Flipside Festival and talked to them about signing to Drive-Thru. They told me everything was still in the process, so I guess it went faster than expected; I'm so happy for them!

TBS rip offs...no...but they arent anything special thats for sure....seriously the only bands i care about are northstar brand new and alkaline trio.

adelphi is horrible. when will everyone realize that taking back thursday rip off bands are a huge joke anymore?

I have talked to kevin from socratic numerous times, he's nice kid and stuff, but i must say...THEY BLOW. I have seen them live twice and they really are exactly the same as every oetrh band out there. I seriously cannot imagine why DTR is signing these guys, they do not possess any good qualities at alll..wellbactually..they're good at sounding like every otehr mainstream band. And as for adelphi, they are the biggest matchbook romance ripoff i have ever heard in my life...its unfortunate

Haven't heard much of Adelphi yet, but from the two Socratic songs I've heard, my ears have definitely pricked up.

adelphia, i just couldnt get into them at all. did he just say diddy was actualy my intial reaction when i first heard the song on that intro page. i really dont get them at all. i see socratic having some potential at least. they could go either way. but i just heard the new i am the avalance demo over at decoymusic and i must say i enjoy it very much. much better than both of these bands. i hope they put something out in the near future.
adelphi is amazing. they are what taking back sunday wishes they could be.

I think both bands are okay. Just hearing one song i dont think you can make a complete judgement if you like or dislike a band. Is it just me or has DTR signed like 4 bands in the past 2-3 months.. it just seems like a lot in a short period of time. But who knows.

Adelphi are ok but they are ripping off their friends from A Second Chance - who are 10 times better and should of been the chosen band, as they have more talent and are a breath of fresh air :)

So how many bands are Adelphi ripping off? I think I read about 5 maybe more. Sure, they don't have the most creative sound but the music isn't horrible and you really can't judge a band by one song. If you only hear one song they are bound to sound like at least one other band you have heard.
anyway, Adelphi and Socratic are both decent and I eagerly await some new stuff from both of them.

a band must be pretty good if they sound like 5 different bands. if you can let me hear a band that does not sound like anything else i would really enjoy to hear them
:angryfire i would like to know how 10 seconds of a song determines a bands credibilty. They sound like this, no they sound like that. give it a rest! Give credit where credit is so due both bands worked their asses off to get where they are. Sorry u guys can't get out of mommy and daddy's basement, but maybe u should spend more time working on material than on the net. Good idea YES. Stop ur crying and complaining. Both bands derserve everything they have gotten so far.
