Aim High
Shoot Low
Our Object is to bring this monster down with one swift blow
Think fast
Move slow
I feel like im on the attack, while being stabbed in the back by the eyes of an angel.

I should know the routine by now
"Man you stations, this ship is going down"
Ushered in by a breeze of cool air
Wind up thinking is there anybody out there?
Another moment
Another staredown
I move in closer
You let your hair down
I bite the bullet
You put your gun down

Your numbers' out of service
(At least thats what they say)
But I know that you've forgot about me
(And youd like to keep it that way)
In the morning I'll be leaving for home
and in 24 hours ill be talking to you over the phone
Ive got nothing to lose but myself
And im growing sick and tired of comparing you to everyone elese
Im not one who will easily give
ill always keep on trying cause Im dying for a reason to live...

Pick up from where we lasted started
Open minded and open hearted
Bracing myself for the fall we'll take
(but for my sake)
Another Summer
Another Visit
Another So long and seven digits
That ill punch in to my phone the minute i walk through my door

Ive lived without you long enough
Can you humor me, next time I take the trip up there
This summer is so much hotter
And so are you, ,but every year I travel back with hopes
that ill find home...

I guess it was a longshot

I like your lyrics quite a bit. Good stuff.

But a title change is needed here, it sounds too close to "Motown Never Sounded So Good" by Less Than Jake.

I see your point, i was battling over the title, any suggestions?

well....you can incorporate NJ into a bunch of other ones:

"Just Like New Jersey"
"Back Home In Jersey"
"This Is New Jersey"
"Jersey Looks So Good"

but, im shitty with titles

Stop using cliche violence metaphores. Please refer to http://knifeparty.com/cutenews/show_archives.php?subaction=showful l&id=1065419591&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1& if you have any more questions. Thanks.

I can see where your coming from.
But the "Gun" Metaphor should not be taken in a violent way.
Im not one to write violent emo lyrics like lets say "Senses Fail"

The gun metaphor was meant to be compared to someone trying to force you to do something and then finally giving in...

I like the saying "bite the bullet" and i just thought bullet and gun would sound cool in a sentence. I can totally see where your comming from, but Im just making it clear that it wasnt meant to portrayed a violent situation...

And yeah being stabbed in the back is being compared to "betrayal" more than violence once again...

But i think you brought up a good point, Im not too happy with all these stereotypical murder-like lyrics. of course they're good imagery, but I think we need to chill a bit....

Your lyrics are actually a lot less filled with them than the majority of everyone else's here- I just happened to read yours first. No offense.

Yeah I understand totally, i get fed up with alot of that bloody romance stuff...

You only learn through criticism. Everyone on here just sucks each other's dicks over their lyrics so you all think you're the next Morrison.

Nah, I hate Morrison. Something more along the lines of Harrison.
