We have a 'What college you're going to' and a 'What's your SAT score' I figure we should have a 'Whats your GPA in HS' thread! Weighted/Unweighted whatever.

Sadly, I had a meager 2.7 GPA in high school. I seriously didn't try most of the time, which is proven by the fact that I have a 3.5 after my first 2 years of college.

I had a 4.0 Freshman and Sophomore year, but after last year it is a 3.8.

Heck yeah it does.
I think my average in high school was a B, so that's about a 3.0?

As of the end of my junior year, I have a 3.988. Hopefully I'll break 4.0 by the end of senior year.

3.46 only because I took calculus senior year. If I didn't take it, I would have had a 3.5+ (and a few thousand more dollars each year for college)
I passed Calc with a 60.1%. be jealous.

3.6 weighted after my senior year (it's called getting an F in calculus). Before this year it was a 3.9 weighted though

3.4 so no chance of getting one of those collars at graduation. Bummer.

3.64 after junior year. We use a 6 point scale and an A in an AP class gets you like a 4.2, not a 5. My school system's grading scale sucks.

3.5 from what I remember.

Like 1.9 or something because I got really sick and had to re-take classes and got low grades on the others, and that totally messed up my gpa. Also, my high school was insanely competetive. But I still got into decent colleges, so whatever. It's over.

4.1 UC Gpa, 4.0 weighted, 3.8 unweighted.
how is that possible?
weighted - all ap's and honors cound as extra point
UC - 8 extra points maximum if you took for AP's and UC approved honors in junior/sophmore year. how can your UC be higher than your weighted?

that may or may not be true...my college counselor at school told us that but i can't find it anywhere on the UC website. but still, i don't see how a UC gpa can be higher than a weighted GPA just because they offer more honors.

I forget where my transcript is to bring out the specifics, but I'm pretty certain what happened is I had 5 AP's my senior year that brought my weighted down but didn't affect my UC.

3.8 unweighted. I took way too many AP classes for my own good though.
The better question is, how much has your GPA worsened since college? I'm currently at a 2.5 hah.

I got a shy 2.4 but I had some issues during this time. In 9th grade I had 10 A's and 6 B's out of 16 courses and I could've done much better in high school if only I took things more seriously. I hate myself and I wish I could go to high school in the us.

Does anyone have a chart/list of how they grade with this system? Like how many percent you have to have to earn an A or B respectively and how you convert them into for instance a 4.0, 3.5 etc. Thanks.

In Southeast Michigan it's:
89.5-100 A 4.0
79.5-89.4 B 3.0
69.5-79.4 C 2.0
59.5-69.4 D 1.0
0-59.4 F 0.0
Then it's just your amount of points divided by number of classes (providing your HS doesn't do credits)
So if you had 3 As (4.0), 2 Bs (3.0), and 1 C (2.0), it would be ([4x3] + [3x2] + [1x1])/6
= (12 + 6 + 1)/6
= 19/6
= 3.16666
I sure hope that was what you were asking.
Edit: Also, AP grades are just 25% higher, so A = 5.0, B = 3.75, C = 2.5, D= 1.25, and F = 0

I had a 4.3 because of taking every AP class possible. It got me into Georgetown, but they didn't give me ANY money and I don't really have $35,000 a year.
So I'm still stuck in Ohio at a school where you only need like a 3.6 to get the max amount of academic scholarship money.
Advice: Don't waste your time working your ass off in high school.

no clue..probably wasn't too good. All I know is my college GPA is probably way better than my high school GPA. Around a 3.0 in college, most likely a 2.5-2.7 in high school.
