if you've got any interest whatsoever in the sport of boxing you owe it to yourself to check out this upcoming fight.
cotto is an undefeated and smart power puncher who continueosly applies pressure with a decent but not great chin, and a at times unreliable defense, but has long been thought to be the future of the division........margarito is a almost always ducked veteran, with a non-stop, pressure style, a somewhat better defense, and a rock solid chin that wears his opponents down more then he blows them out of the ring with one punch.
i'm picking margarito by ko in the later rounds.

this is going to be a great fight. i think cotto will knock him out. he is too big and strong, and he seems to have corrected chin issues that bothered him earlier in his career (corley fight, etc.). if cotto does win, there's going to be tremendous pressure on mayweather to finally take the fight.
mayweather knows that just as much as everyone else which is why he "retired" because in the event of a cotto win he's now in a position to sqeeze every last dollar possible out the cotto camp if they really want a fight between the two to happen.
cotto showed signs of tiring in the late rounds against mosely, and i think margarito is tough enough to weather the early cotto storm, which is why i'm picking margarito in the late rounds.......either way this fight isn't going the distance and is almost guaranteed to be a classic.

Cotto will take this by decision...but there should be some fireworks in this one..but I dont see either of the getting KO'd
and since I am a cleveland boy, I am looking forward to the Pavlik-Hopkins fight!

pavlik vs. hopkins?
unless pavlik really gives the clingy, subtly dirty, hopkins a viscious beating (doubtful since hopkins has made a career of making great fighters look average) that fight will be a snooze-fest.

yeah Hopkins defiantely has a way of making fights boring, but I would love to see Pavlik light him up..but I doubt it happens like that...Kelly will win a decision
I would love to see a fight with Calzaghe though, that would be a great fight

i hate to say i told you so....but i told you so.
not quite as action packed as i thought it would be because cotto wouldn't stand and fight for any real length of time......but it was still a great fight.
calzaghe vs. pavlik would make a great fight......hopefully that comes together within a few months.

yeah...you were right. margarito was an animal...he just ate everything and kept coming forward. i don't want to see him fight de la hoya...i would much rather see him fight someone else in their prime now...
yeah, margarito has an incredibly durable chin.......but fighters with his style don't normally stay on top of thier game for very long without taking some sort of permanent damage.......so for his sake i hope he gets a couple more big fights and then has the sense to retire.
mayweather could make for a good fight but i doubt if mayweather is willing to take the fight after seeing what happened to cotto.......so another bout with paul williams might be good, and i really wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with cotto.
