Some little known band called New Found Glory (http://www.newfoundglory.com) debuted on TRL today at #9. Hey Kids, I know everyone is punk and doesn't like MTV but go vote for em' at MTV.com because the video is alot better than J-Kwon, Maroon 5 and Wang Chung.

to clarify, maroon 5 is much better than nfg. m5 saw the light early on and gave up on pop punk back in the late 90's after they changed their name from kara's flowers (another prudent career choice). someone should forward nfg the memo.

You are a douche. Last I recall, all my girl friends were into them (Maroon 5). "He's sooooo cute.....blah blah blah." NFG will be around longer than they will. Remember that when Maroon 5 puts out their next cd and no one gives a crap.

since you are a maroon 5-ologist and study them really carefully and the span of their career, maybe you should stop posting on this forum and make your way over to maroon 5's message board and join the rest of the 14 year olds there in explaining why you love them and how they are so hot.

maroon 5 is whack. i don't care if "they seen the light and given up on pop punk" but they are horrible.

like i first stated, go vote for NFG because the video is better than all of the shit on TRL.

is that really your best retort? perhaps i really should post on a board with 14 year olds, i am sure they could manage a more intelligent response. i mean it is laughable to criticize maroon 5 about their 14 year old fans in some ill-fated attempt to boost the credibility of nfg, since that is EXACTLY what everyone says about nfg too. maybe you should stop posting news if you can only recycle meaningless rants about the age of fans (as if that even mattered) especially as it just highlights your own ignorance about the band you humorously try to defend.

No one said anything about Maroon 5 or NFG having *been* around longer. However the statement was made that Maroon 5 is going to blow it out their ass on their next album. And in closing, I think you should get a life and, in fact, go post on their messageboard instead of this one. You would fit in nicely with the 14-year olds.

TRL is the worst thing on television...the videos are horrible...the crap they do in between videos is horrible. The only thing worse than having to watch it is actually calling in to vote for videos to be on it. If you cant think of better things to do with your time then you are beyond aid.

i'm sure these bands appreciate each other's music, and probably don't appreciate you guys arguing for them over their music. which by the way is something you can't really compare, they don't even sound at all alike. everyone jsut chill out both bands are good, both work hard. respect it.

I think it's important to realize that they are both very good at what they do. Maroon 5 has some awesome musicianship with a very original sound while NFG is a very energetic band that writes catchy melody lines. People should have opinions but also appreciate what different groups are good at and what they have to offer. That's what music is all about! WOO HOO...

I've heard certain "punk" artist say DMB is mad skilled. I'm not too much of a fan, but DMB does have skill. And whoever said the Counting Crows suck is just wrong.

DMB is one of the most skilled whole bands in the world right now. Everyone in that band shreds at their instruments. There is not one weak instrument to that band. Those guy's would tear the crap out of any punk band. Punk and rock music generally is my love but, to say DMB aren't good musicians is just denying reality.

Just so you guys know, stuff like TRL and radio airplay is all based on how much money a band's label gives to the station. It costs bands (or their labels) money to be on the radio and TV, so calling up to vote on TRL does absolutely nothing.

Truth is, is doesn't matter whether a band is talented or not. Their music can still suck, as DMB displays. I really don't think I've ever heard a more obnoxious voice. Seriously.

what is this guys. why do people waste their time and energy whining about bands they hate when they could be spreading the message on bands they love. maroon 5 has only been around what 3-4 years. New Found Glory has been around for almost 7. and nfg does tour a little more than maroon 5 but m5 is good don't get me wrong. but don't fucking compare them to New Found Glory, a band who, i think deserves it a little more and has lasting qualities not just a hit radio single

new found glory is not even close to the level of DMB, and i doubt they'd deny it. to say that DMB are just talented song writers is beyond ignorance. no knowledgable person denies them the credit they deserve. im not even bagging on NFG, and i dont like DMB that much, but they are amazing musicians. and maroon 5 is rad too.
