Which is your favorite movie trilogy? The original Star Wars trilogy [A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi], or The Lord of the Rings trilogy? Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with Tolkien's novels, so do not let them sway your opinion. This is only about the films. Poll arriving soon.

I think I've seen part of Empire Strikes Back, so Star Wars wins based on how much of each trilogy I've seen.

Star Wars ftw x1000000000
I've seen 3 Star Wars movies, and no LotR movies, so Star Wars wins by default I guess.

I had an argument with my friend about this yesterday, which is what inspired me to make this poll. Stupid fool thinks LoTR is better...

The only advantage as far as I am concerned that The Lord of the Rings has over Star Wars is the battle scenes, for everything else Star Wars is better and even the fight scenes on Star Wars aren't exactly dull.

haha I think I want to check out Star Wars eventually, but I have absolutely no interest in The Lord of the Rings.

Star Wars, but LOTR is amazing as well. I just grew up on Star Wars so that gets my vote.

falseDon't get me wrong, I think the Bourne movies are decent flicks, but to me they seem quite repetitive and have little lasting value.
On a different note, whereabouts in Jersey are you from? There seems to be many posters from this glorious state on here.

Haha no i understand, they do have small lasting value i just am not the biggest sci-fi or fantasy nerd. Plus Matt Damon is up in my top actors.
Im up in north jersey about 20 mins out from NYC, yeah a hell of alot of people post from Jerz, what about you?

The Bourne Trilogy is fantastic.
And I really can't decide between these 2, I may have to go with Lord of the Rings though.

It's not fair to compare the two movies. Star Wars wins for historic value its a classic and LOTR will be eventually

I've been a Star Wars nerd since I was a kid, so LotR loses on that account. Not to mention I couldn't give a shit less about "fantasy" things (dwarves, trolls, dragons, wizardry, etc.) when compared to spaceships and laser cannons. The LotR movies were cool and all, but I'm fine never seeing them again.

Lord of The Rings. Fuck Star Wars.
I grew up with Star Wars in my life but The Lord of The Rings (as one) is my favorite film of all time.
LOTR ftw

LOTR doesn't have giant floating space stations, so it automatically loses.
It also doesn't have a lackluster third part and a horrendous prequel trilogy

The empire strikes back is better than all 3 of the lord of the rings movies but all three of the lord of the rings movies are better than the other two star wars fims. Therefore, Lord of the Rings gets the win.

Yeah, the rest of the movie was atrocious. Return of The Jedi has one giant, giant problem- Eewoks. They're cute, but can they really defeat the elite stormtroopers?

LotR Hands down, SW movies are cool and all, but they're not as epic as LotR. And Ewoks were the only cool thing about Return of the Jedi. In another note the guy who plays Anakin sucks at acting

Randal Graves (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026879/): Oh, I'm the geek? Look at you two whipping out your preciouses.
Elias (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0270470/): You'll have to excuse him, he's not "down" with the trilogy.
Randal Graves (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026879/): Oh, what the fuck happened to this world? There's only one trilogy, you fucking morons.

Randal Graves (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026879/): Oh, I'm crazy? Those fuckin' hobbit movies were boring as hell. All it was, was a bunch of people walking, three movies of people walking to a fucking volcano.
