I hope this thread is in the right place/worth making. I'm having surgery in 4 days and won't be able to move much for a couple of weeks. :-(
Movies that I like:
A Beautiful Mind
Donnie Darko
Fight Club
Garden State
Memento
Zodiac
The Big Lebowski
American Beauty
Plenty more where that came from, good luck with the surgery.

when you're on painkillers and confined to your bed I would not watch a movie like Donnie Darko, since those movies tend to need you to be fully awake or your dreams will be nightmares
I'd suggest a comedy

Trainspotting, American Beauty, Seven, Pulp Fiction, There Will Be Blood, Layer Cake, A Clockwork Orange, Batman Begins, American Psycho, Jackie Brown
if you want more or want a different kind of movie let me know.

Haha, true....I'm not the biggest comedy fan but I'll find some.

it doesn't need to be completely mindless, just nothing to weird or complex, even something like sideways would work
I once saw apocalypse now while half asleep and it was made it even weirder

good taste. anything by miyazaki is gold. if you're crippled why not try to catch up on some tv? the sopranos is all on dvd, as are many other great shows.

TV boxsets, for sure. Take this time to get into shows you've always heard good things about, but never checked out. Some of my favorites are:
Lost
Arrested Development
The Office
Kind of obvious choices, but all those are fairly short and you can completely catch up in less than a week.

If you want TV show, try Dexter and Huff. Showtime has the best series.

If only they wouldn't cancel half if them prematurely. ie Huff and Dead Like Me. I feared that Weeds would have been cancelled long ago.

I would definitely recommend grabbing some TV series. I'd suggest watching Six Feet Under and/or Veronica Mars if you haven't already.
