The kid would have been questioned if it were ANY current president, democratic of republican. You aren't allowed to just draw pictures of the president dead, just as much as you aren't allowed to say you're going to kill the president.

I drew a picture of Bush Sr. in a mass grave with Shias dead in Elementary school and nothing happened...
This is bullshit...welcome to 1984.

He was simply questioned by the secret service. In a lot of other countries he'd be dead or in prison. Drawing the Presidents head on a stick is not the most apporpriate thing either and there are no freedoms being stomped on here.

actually, when i was a junior in high school (1998) all the high school students in Mass. had to take these practice aptitude tests, which were the precursors to the now required MCAS test needed to graduate. we were the 'test' subjects. at the end of the test was an essay portion where we had to write a short essay about anything we wanted. a friend of mine made up a fictional story about president clinton getting killed, and sure enough, who ever graded the test called the secret service, and he got the riot act. and he was one of the top students in school, and his dad was chairman of the school commitee. fucking democrats....
anyway, as you can see, the door swings both ways.
ps. i think it made the news, i'll look for a link...

Yes, let's blaim the republicans because a teacher saw this pic, called the police, who then called the secret service.

Why, thanks to the Patriot Act, that's become quite true.

what did the patriot act have to do with this?
You were just talking about how he shouldn't have drawn whatever it was, and how no freedoms were trampled. I mentioned the Patriot Act in that of course there were no freedoms stepped on, the PA proved they are suspended very easily, anyhow.
