Hey,
Does anyone else here suffer from back problems?
My back gives me hell 24 hours 7 days a week, but I haven't had it checked out yet. I'm under 18 so I prolly need to go with a parent by law but my mum and dad don't listen when I tell them how much it hurts and stuff, but they prolly wouldn't have the time to go so we've never got around to it.
I dont know exactly what it is .. could be stress or something, i'm in my last year of school and we have exams soon. I do get pretty stressed out. The pains are a numb heavy stinging feeling all on my back, shoulders and neck. It feels like i'm wearing a heavy backpack all the time. It's effecting my sleep because it hurts all night and it just stings so much that I can't get to sleep. It's starting to effect that way I walk .. most of the time I just can't walk with my head up.
My school bag weighs practically nothing, and I don't carry it around all day, so it can't be that.
Whatever it is, I can't keep this up .. it's driving me nuts. What should I do? :( Every time I try and tell my mum or dad they just laugh and say that it's nothing ..

I can almost understand why your parents just laugh at you but you have to get your back checked, if you leave it now you could have back problems for the rest of your life. If you think you can't go to the doctors by yourself then find out, I'm sure a website will tell you.
You really need to see a doctor though. Even fake not being able to get out of the bed might make your parents see sense.

You need to see a doctor. Especially if its your back more than any other part of your body. I slightly know how you feel because I have scoliosis, but you sound way worse off than I am. That might just be because I went to a doctor about it when I was little. Talk to your parents some more. It'll just take some more effort to get them to take you. If not, then yea check out some website about back pain. Yahoo! Health is great.

You should defintely get that checked out now. I developed very bad scoliosis when I was 15 and had surgery, had rods put on my spine but its still at a 70 somethig degree angle. Sucks.
yeah it prolly has something to do with strain on your spine(im not bullshitting/pulling this out of my ass, i work at a hospital in the er, so i see all kinds of stuff, and im a med major in school), but yeah tell your parents that you cant sleep, and that no matter what you do, it always hurts. if they dont pay attention, go to a clinic or something, cuse you dont want things to get worse if something is really wrong

I got scoliosis to and my back hurts all the time because of it. It's not like a real bad curve though, but its enough to give me muscle spasm's all the time. I use to run for like, cardiovascular conditioning and I can't do it anymore, after about 3/4 of a mile my back starts all spazzing.

You should see a chiropractor...
I had serious back issues and my hips always gave way whenever I went to run. My D.C. really helped me out, and I can't complain about my back anymore. My sister has scoliosis and has been going to the same guy, and she's doing unbelievably better. The hump that was there on her back is practically unrecognizable now. Research and find a decent chiropractor to go to...
I worked as a furniture mover for a summer about 2 years ago and my back has never been the same. It is almost always going out, I either have to pop it back into place myself or have my Grandfather (who is a chiropractor) move all my bones back into place.

I was seeing a chiropractor, It helps for like 2 hours, then I'm back to normal again.

Fuck all that 'you need to see a doctor' crap. Get in touch with an Osteapath. Basically alls they do is massage your back and put your muscles/bones back into place... seeing as it sounds like they are out of place. Look in the mirror and see if you shoulders are straight. If they're not and one if higher than the other you've put your back out. Or lstand up straight and look at your feet, are they more inverted inwards? Then you've put your lower back out...
